Just finished third day of IA SPBR. First time ever doing dead lifts and first time in about 5 years doing squats Sore as fuck. Also learned that my triceps and shoulders are basically nonexistent. Can't wait for beginner gains, would be nice to be stronger than the average 15yo girl.
*edit* Is there anything I can/should be doing to speed things along beyond the outlined routine?
doing these things won't "speed things along" as much as they will prevent future grief/injury/lack of progress down the road. so you aren't doing anything faster, but just ensuring you don't come to a screeching halt. this is arguably far more worthwhile than doing things faster as this is a long-ass process with no shortcuts so you need to focus on that aspect. you are in the unique position of starting fresh so if you do things properly from the start you will save yourself a lot of frustration as time goes on.
- be consistent with your diet. what is your goal body composition-wise, and what are you eating right now?
- try to get video of your three main lifts: bench, squat, and deadlift. this is a pretty big deal imho - lots of people think they are doing things right and then they see a video of their lifts and it is a rude surprise. you'll be able to identify mobility/range of motion or technique issues much easier with video.
enjoy the beginner gains though dude. you will enjoy ironclad progress for a good while as long as you are sensible about things.

Diet isn't terrible at the moment, mostly meats and veggies that I make or cottage cheese, greek yogurt, peanut butter for snacks. Trying for high protein, probably eating too much fat, and cutting back on carbs. I started logging on fitbit, need to be more precise though and it wouldn't hurt to cut back on my off days. Need to lose a little weight since I picked up some fat last semester and over the break at home. What kills me right now is lunch. Coworkers want to go out to eat and I'll go so I'm not the anti-social asshole, but it's really hard to fit that food into a good diet.
