Frank Yang's training partner has the smallest fuckin legs
Do you mean his gf?
Fainted in the gym, 105kgx20, fainted as I was about to rack the bar, missed the rack and errything fell errywhere and brah had to get the weight off me. Don't care made gains. Was on 4.5 hours sleep and a mango and a pack of ramen to eat so thats probably why.
yet another good thing that comes from lifting in a gym where the only stationary bike got relocated to the basement
Yeah, all of the information available there makes it kind of overwhelming.
A warning though - it's pretty depressing to go down the mobility route. You find out in what shitty condition you are and that society in general prevents any sort of progression with it, haha (mostly by sitting down all the time). It also takes a lot of time, effort and pain to make any substantional changes on your mobility.
Btw, is it important to keep the rib cage down on overhead pressing movements?
I did some military presses today and couldn't keep it down when locking out the bar fully overhead. I focus on keeping my core and glutes is as tight as possible to not hyperextend the back.
I know right. If you are participation in any part of society today you pretty much opt yourself out of having good mobility. AND SHIT IS HARD TO FIX AND TAKE A BUT FUCK OF TIME. Taken me like 7 months to gain about 20* of internal rotation in both my arms and my desk job is constantly trying to undo that.
I just wana fuckin die and live in a forest where I can stand / walk / run all day and lift heavy logs.
I think it's "squats and deadlifts are risky if done incorrectly, which is a danger for a n00b without a coach. And, since the benefit might not be worth the risk vis-a-vis alternative movements (front/goblet squats, etc), perhaps we should reevaluate our suggestions or at least have alternate suggestions for n00bs who we don't trust to not fuck themselves up"
watch "happy people"
Started counting cals for this first time in my life a few months ago. Apparently big bags of potato chips are not a good idea.
Awww i fuckin love Herzog. That guy is so damn salty, I'd be dead like like 1.5minutes. I like the story about his dog fighting a bear.
those are some hard folk living out there
Whoa, he's making another movie about them? The one I saw was black and white.
Oh and that fuckin part where he drives his ice wheeler home and the dog has to run behind him for like a straight 19 hours.. WTF
Judging from what everyone here sees at the gym, I would venture a guess nobody disagrees with this. The other day I saw a guy throw 2 plates on a bar and "squat" to like... 60 degrees above parallel. And a different guy deadlift 3 plates with some crazy back shifting like in that video from a couple pages ago.
I always wonder if people who lift like that in the gym think they are stronger than me.
Separate names with a comma.
