Random health and exercise thoughts

    Interesting thing I've noticed:

    At work I've been using my own blood as a sorta kinda control/background test against a family with a genetic thrombocytopenia. I'm basically just using it to figure out how I'm going to set up an experiment.

    Anyway, after I take my blood I spin it down to get the platelet rich plasma. Since getting back into training in the past 3 months, I've noticed a massive increase in my haematocrit. It's gone from roughly 40% to what looks like 60-70%. Is it a natural increase due to the effects of testosterone? anyway, it's pretty scarily high now...slightly worrying.

    Trying to find a pair of tapered jeans with starting strength thighs is a mindfuck. I should really just switch to another program. Or wear sweatpants every day.

    Picked up an amnesty international girl, will send pics to trusted rhet brahs who won't detective me. Was hilarious because she kept talking to me about how much she cares about NGOs and helping with teh poverty people and I was like yah I want to work for goldman. Told me she loves her job because she gets to meet amazing people like me (lol) and then asked if I wanted to take her for a drink. Will hit with the fury of a norse god. Also hit a chin up PR of 22 reps.

    Bench pressed 2x7x200 today. Finally broke into 200s but it wasn't full 8 reps. Next week hopefully...

    Gave up on jeans entirely? There are some fits that still work fine for tbh. though the real question here may be "Do I even legs?" though.

    Local supermarket started stocking horse steak; the stuff is tastier, juicier and more tender and cheaper than any supermarket beef steak : )
    Not quite as cheap as chicken tho, but still....good stuff.

    I don't want to give up on jeans entirely--but I'll probably have to give up on raws (not a fan of those huge straight leg repro cuts). Might just get those new "men's leggings" from Uniqlo just so I can stuff my ass and thighs into them. What's the point of these things anyway when I my squat is still only 270 x 5... :uhoh:

    ^ I was a fan of the repro cuts for a long time, but outgrew the ones I was wearing, surprisingly enough. I might try denim again, but I have an aversion to taking $200-300 denim to a local tailor in hopes of tapering them.

    Routine isn't really going to matter. Any basic program (with bench, squat, and deadlifts once a week) will work as along as you bust your ass.

    An average joe will just have put on a tiny bit of muscle and drop down to like 10-12%. It's fairly easy since he's not big at all - actually pretty slim, bordering on skinny.
