I was kind of thinking of trying 5/3/1 this year, probably the bodybuilding template, should help me get my lifts up to more respectable levels. Only trouble is OHP is like the only movement that gives me shoulder problems, and everyone always says dont fuck with the program. I prefer to do lateral raises, and some supersets for shoulders, because they grow in proportion without direct work anyway. I will also be cutting for some time this year so im guessing the program only works for progression while in a surplus.

Sickening squat day today, got 4x10x225lb with really short rest periods. Timed each set and no one went past 20 seconds, with the first 3 coming up in 5 seconds and then I decided to yolo it and got 20x225lb in 54 seconds, feels good man. Dad decided to time my reps because I was being explosive as fuk today. Also went 15,15,20 on RDLs with 225lb. Enjoying these high reps, joints feel better, muscles feel more full, I think I look a little leaner. Will increase the weight and drop the reps next week probably. Maybe 245 or something. Wrapped me elbows and the strap squat no longer hurt them.

I wear size 30 T-000s when I want tight as fuck jeans or 32 weird guys, but they're a bit too big on me in my opinion. Need to find shorts for the summer, mid quad length of peace.

Stinger, you could drop the over head press and bench twice a week and do tricep and shoulder work both days? No longer overhead pressing, high volume lateral raises and rear delt flies.

Unbranded 201s, size 36, tapered leg opening. Need to get the waist taken in a ltitle too. I have a donk :(

Haven't read through the thread but what are people's goals for the year?

I think my biggies are just to bulk up my arms to at least 17", be able to bench 225 for 10 reps comfortably, learn to swim (tread water + breathe through strokes) and keep a respectable pace on my bike for 2-3 laps through Central Park

Im not even gonna bother to try and cut this year... I think cutting the last 4 years held me back. I have control over my diet now to where I can gain muscle w/o putting on fat

Yea fiji I stopped doing super heavy lifts. I hit 405x6 on DLs but my form was shit and I had a lot of lumbar pain. Now I just do SLDLs and split squats. More growth, less pain, why the fuck not.

Will be squatting in knee wraps for first time this week. Been practicing putting them on at home and holy god they are uncomfortable.

Always found split squats very uncomfortable, the backwards foot always got raped by the bench, tore up my ankles. Putting it on something spongy might help. Always felt them in my glutes strangely too.

Why are you using wraps? Just to overload the squat? They fucking hurt and i've only ever used inzers, which are really soft.

I think I'm going shrink to fit 501's from here on out. For 3-4 years now, I have been buying and selling 2 to 3 hundred dollar denim and I am fucking sick of it. The measurements never reflect reality and they never fit for more than 6 months anyway. It's just not worth the fucking labor any more. I got suckered into the whole raw denim idea and have never put a fade on anything since. I'm also tired of the store credit only policies of all of our SF favorites. Blue Owl is closer to my price point these days (SE is fucking riddled with $300+ denim) but I can't be reasonably assured that anything from BO would fit. Really, I give up.

I've been stalled on squat for a bit and also wouldn't mind some knee stability. Was talking to an ex-power lifter at a gym in Kansas City and he gave me a pair and said go forth and squat young Padawan, so I figured its time to venture into equipmentland.

You don't even know the beginning of painful knee wraps until you get them wrapped "competition" style by a powerlifter :p

If they hurt, you're using them right. If they cause blinding pain and everything below your knees start going numb 30 seconds after the wrap and about a minute or two later, near fully numb, then you're using them to their true potential.

I use extremely stiff ones and I love them.

Knee stability, schmee stability - yes they help with your knees a bit. But the main point of them is to add some pop out of the hole to increase your numbers for raw lifting numbers (federation dependent if you are a powerlifter). Don't try to walk around the fact that it's not. I love my wraps!

Yea, i think Levis is a good idea. They are cheap enough to replace. What's good though is you're continuing to grow which every adult male should be. I get angry at the fact that I've sold so much denim at a lost but then I remember it's all for a good cause in getting bigger and stronger. There's a hong kong company that sells levis repros for about $160, I'm about to purchase two pairs. They seem very roomy, I think most modern denim is just rip off of Levis 501 but a bit slimmer, even the stuff labeled workwear is still slim. So I'm gonna buy some legit repros. The only denim I faded were APC NS that i sized up 2x in, they were big on me at first but over the years i filled them out cause i knew i would.

Welcome to my world. Been lonely here for a while.

BTW - if your thighs are larger than your waist, get a TTS waist size. once they stretch back out after the original shrink you should be good to go.

I need help with these problems and am thankful for any input I can get.

Basically, I'm hyperextending out of the whole when squatting. Glutes and hips rise faster than shoulders. I have problems keeping my core tight and staying upright on the descent and ascent.

I need to get a stronger abs, upper and lower back. I'm doing Iron addicts Simple Power Based Routine. How do I fit more of those areas in that routine without extending the workouts? Really don't want to drop any work on posterior chain or arms, as those need to get stronger. Shall I just add another set?

I'm sick of having to deload and work on form as soon as I seem to get anywhere. Makes me question if I've even gotten stronger during this bulk. Maybe it's all fat. Tempted to hire ex and let him guide me, but my lifts are so low it feels dumb.

You could swap out squats for Good mornings once in a while to bring up your lower back? I'm pretty sure iron addicts has loads of upper back work in it anyway? Can't recall the program. What is your head position and are you squatting with a mirror? I find really driving my neck into the bar and squatting without a mirror stops you falling forward.

Possibly underactive glutes. I have the same problem. They should help hold the spine neutral and add power to the squat by driving your upper body up from underneath, if they dont activate very well they just shoot up behind you and overtake your upper body, at least thats my understanding and how it FEELS to me.
