    I keep wanting to ask to take a picture of him, but dont wana be awkward. I did sneak a picture of a few of the photos of him around the gym

    also I've never seen him lift anything over 100lbs. Hes def the biggest guy I have ever seen.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't low-bar squat be over mid-foot and not over heels like high-bar? I was in the impression that yes but if I'm wrong, I'll start fixing my technique.

    Pause squats feel so good, but are way more taxing than I anticipated. 265 paused had me dripping sweat.

    for real, i started doing these with a 5-second pause in the hole and it was quite surprising how much weight i had to take off the bar. in 4 weeks i can already notice a big difference with my regular squat, though

    Yeah I'm up on 164th and broadway.

    Malecon on 175th is the best lunch spot uptown. Cheap and bomb ass dominican food for sure. No booze tho. Slightly further down, tasty deli on 169th is one of the best sandwich places i've been to in the city no joke.

    Fat buddah bar on 191st is also pretty decent. It's your standard sports bar but like, the vibe is chiller because it's uptown. Locksmith across the street has bomb burgers. I'm not sure how strict they are about carding during the day but they're fairly strict at night.

    Heading up to inwood there's the inwood local (a cool beer garden) and Pipers Kilt (an irish pub). Again, not sure about the carding situation there.

    Also, the cheapest booze in the city is flair beverages right by the bridge to the bronx. It's where a lot of stores stock up on liquor and is cheap as fuck. If you have a car you should totally stock up there.

    Hit me with a text next time you're up there during non-working hours if you wanna get a drink. Or if your girl has any friends she wants to introduce me to haha

    IIRC, your weight should be over the outside of the mid foot for a low-bar squat (trying to spread the floor apart) while for a high-bar squat, all weight should be placed over the heel.

    In this instance he is meaning the actual bar path when he is saying where the weight should be, not where you should be focusing your weight on your feet.

    Tried longing a put on GLD yesterday. Account wasn't set up for options trading. Put in the request to have it set up. Takes 24-48 hours. Still under review. I'd be a couple thousand dollars richer today. FUCK

    What's everyone's opinions on barbell hip thrusts? Seem silly looking but a great way to target glutes without too much quad activation.

    Moving on, I thought I has my squat form dialed in... I don't think even close. After watching it on tape looks like en route to snap city, and this is with baby weight too. Most glaring thing I can obviously notice is my heels go up and all the weight is on my toes. Can any of you guys offer a critique please. Can't embed on my phone

    Looks like a lot of the weight is shifting forward and you're coming off your heels. If you were on your heels more you'd prob be able to get lower too. I can only speak from the Rippetoe school of squats, but maybe someone more experienced can chime in.

    One tip that worked for a friend of mine, that might also work for you, is a more neutral head position and looking more downwards. This almost auto-corrected the weight shift for my friend and he stayed on his heels much more.

    doesn't look terrible, but you need to break more with your hips first, like you're sticking your ass out to take a dump on a gross toilet.
