Tried board presses for the first time to address the above. Not a lot of available boards at the gym so I went with a yoga block, probably 6" or so high. Probably not the safest approach and definitely pretty strange to look at but it seemed to work. I guess I could have tried stacking towels as well. Wasnt able to move that much more weight off of the yoga block vs. the paused benches off my chest, sort of surprised.

Seems like it really activated my upper back, near the shoulder blades, does that make sense? I assume that at the lowest part of the bench you are primarily using your chest and at the top, primarily triceps/biceps. Not sure about this part of the bench, sort of in the middle.

6" is a bit too high for your needs so I suggest finding something slightly lower. I prefer 4-5" inches.

Depending on your bar path, you will feel your upper back activate more at lockout. Your upper back should always be as tight as possible but since the bar is higher up on your chest and more over your blades/traps towards lockout, you will feel more pressure on that area thus creating the feeling of increased upper back activity.

Got that offer too last summer, feels good doesn't it. But actually all you need to do is walk up and take your shirt off and tell the guy you're breaking him. Then acquire numbers and run away before they figure out you're a transient sex offender.

Last time I walked by a Hollister/Abercrombie about 5 years ago, there were very bitch-like dudes standing out front. Ripped, no real size, no legs.

Thoughts on going from warm-up straight to heavy and working down to light? I've been doing it these past couple days and set new PRs for both weight and reps. Though, a week's worth of rest could have had something to do with it too..
