Almost had it today... did 2 reps of OH press with 10 lbs less than my bodyweight... another nickel on either side and I'll get to the promised land of the BW overhead press. Now to get some good strength goals set for my legs.. [IMG]

    What were you doing before?
To activate glutes/hams i was thinking of "humping" the bar as the cue, which i think put undue strain on my lower back.

Sweet lift! Straight press (standing military, no push press?). [IMG]

I can push-press about +20 over body weight but for military I'm about 40-50 under [IMG]

When u guys do OH press, how far down do you go? I recently dropped the weight a bit (from about 130-140 to about 110) as I was not bringing the bar down far enough. I get really nice + deep delt activation now that I'm bringing the bar down to my chest. I do a sitting press with a loaded barbell.

The "make love to the bar" mantra only applies to dl lockout.

Yes, this is standing military, no push. I usually do push press with DBs, I seem to have better control with DBs. BW metrics are always easier, I think, when you only weigh 135lbs... [IMG]

I decided some time back on the advice of a friend with his pro card to domilitary presses down to ~ the chin and never do a full lockout, rather I keep the delts under constant tension and have gotten much better results.

I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain (both on and off the webz) about not having time to cook/eat healthy food. Total BS IMO.. It takes 5 minutes to make a healthy breakfast, and well under 1 hour to cook for the day, so shut the goddamn TV off, spend an hour less drinking or partying and take care of this simple task.

    /rant

It is BS, but my excuse is that i cook at work (i support people with intellectual disabilities) and i come home after a sleepover shift and i honestly cannot be fucked cooking for myself.

cooking 7 days a week is just shit.

Fortunately there's a fantastic vegetarian Indian takeaways near my house. I pretty much live on lentil soup and yoghurty/spicy ethnic creations...I'm not vegetarian but damn that shit is good.

Yeah, lentil soup and the yoghurty stuff is usually reasonably clean, but Indian food can get pretty greasy - lots of butter or ghee slipped in. Just be aware.

I am of Indian ancestry, so I know.. [IMG]
