1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Ok, got bad varicocele from dead lifting last week. I´ve had it since I was a teen, but never really felt it before. Now really painful and have gotten much bigger.

So, need a bro style program which involves a lot of sitting and machines, no lift requiring abdominal pressuare (e.g., squats and deads) while I wait to see a specialist.

Did curls, dumbell presses, narrow bench in smith and some flyes yesterday. Used to to stronglifts 5 x 5...

    seriously, fuck this.

In the words of JM Blakely.. "Anyone can eat two candy bars in under a minute - and that's an extra 500 calories right there."

Stevia? Artificial sweeteners tend to bloat me.

yeah id wager that although clean eating at high enough calories is a fucking enormous pain in the ass there still probably exists some middle ground between maintenance and eating two bags of doritos

calorie surplus = box of mac n cheese, 1300 cals that disappears in 10 minutes.

cook some ham/weenies/ground beef/whatever and throw that shit in there, seriously, who doesn't like mac n cheese. i centered my intake around that today, 1 box + lb of chicken parm + 2scoops whey, done. tastiest calorie deficit ever

    Basic rule of thumb..

If you say you have trouble eating more clean food to gain weight.. then eat dirtier. Or just shut up.

Welcome to my life for the past 9 months (not varicocele, that sounds painful AF, but rather, Symphysis pubis dysfunction)

My routine has been as follows:

    A:
    Bench
    Face Pull
    Dips
    Plate loaded Iso-Row
    Chin ups

    B:
    Incline Bench
    Wide Grip Pull-up
    Bicep Curl
    Flye

    C:
    Machine Leg Curl
    Machine Hamstring Curl
    Seated Calf Raise

For the C day, i've been moving to machine hack squats and straight legged deadlifts, but that is by far the most meh day. Maybe add some bike intervals? Also, can you do planks without pain? Because isometric holding exercises didn't aggrivate my injury and increased my abdominal strength immensely.

That's my standard advice for gym tag-alongs who complain about not making progress.

    1)Eat more
    2)HTFU.

Dinner last night was 1lb (frozen) chicken, .5 lb broccoli, .75lb strawberries, .5 lb Greek yogurt w/ 2 scoop whey. Plenty of food and I didn't blow my calorie count on it.

Told a patient not to squat more than 30 degrees. :(

    random exercise thought:

"Cleans will come naturally from power cleans as you increase the weight and need to catch lower"

This is true, but for a long time when I was doing power cleans I wasn't pushing back my ass on the catch, and thus just catching with slightly bent knees. Of course, as I increased the weight, rather than catching lower in a proper front squat position, I was forcing my legs wider and wider apart.

The solution is to always make sure you're catching in a front squat position, whether you're doing a power clean or going for a full clean.

Always go to the gym in the morning but was traveling today so went in the evening. Crazy crowded, had to work in on the bench. Never realized how good it would feel to do 5 reps at 235 when the guy working in with you (same size) is struggling to do 155.
