1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

what high horse? they included planks to say "if this is too easy you need to do a more difficult plank." no shit. that goes for any movement. they included bench press to say "you need to do things other than bench pressing on upper days." no shit. that also goes for any movement. they included hanging knee raises to say "if you do them wrong you'll hurt yourself!!!" no shit. that goes for any movement too. its a stupid article with stupid reasoning, hence why i mocked it. i was unaware that pointing this out warranted a serious response about pressing angles, something i did not even address or support in one way or another, but hey go ahead and miss the point for the sake of defending a bad "top 5 exercises to never do!!!!" list. yeesh.

i thought this was a safe place

you're reading far too into my comments

all i'm saying is the "no shit" for us might not be no shit for others 'cause people are pretty fucking retarded. and none of that advice is all that bad for its target demographic (people who are retarded).

and the "haha n00bs" attitude just generally irks me. for all the shitty fitness advice out there this isn't the best example.

ugh. i had a seriouspost written out but the meta-level of irony that would have resulted made me reconsider, so all i will say is

    1. you and flame missed the point entirely

    2. when did we go from mocking retarded fitness advice to defending it

Had some sickening cardiology tests today for dat der marfans. That thing where they put jelly on your chest, an ECG and had my blood pressure checked. Exciting news, my blood pressure is fucking ridiculous, like 155 over 80 or something, but then it got tested again like 20 minutes later at 140 so thats ok I guess. My aorta has not expanded, still within a 95% confidence interval so thats the main bit. However the walls in my heart have doubled in thickness in 2 years. Said this is something she only sees in elite athletes, therefore I am an elite athlete. She didn't say if its good or bad, but I am proud of my heart. Made better gains then my arms have. It went from 7 to 14mm or whatever you measure heart walls in. She then asked if I still do heavy lifting because 2 years ago I said I deadlifted 130kg, asked me what I lift now and I said 200kg and she was concerned. Told me I should do cycling or swimming or lift less heavy, but can't get jacked from that. Also asked if I was using AAS, which was quite nice of her.

My BP is high-ish as well, similar to your second reading. It was alright before lifting, so i think it comes with gaining a shit load of weight in a short space of time. Apparently you can't measure a more muscular arm accuratley anyway because the density of muscle skews the reading, not sure if true but t-nation said so. Imagine the heart wall gains you would have made on sterons.

DBL bench and incline press at 65lb is so heavy my skinny girl wrists are going to snap. Feels good to be putting up more weight week by week though. I feel like I am going to plateau soon but I have made the biggest gains and progress in the past 2 months or so.

My waist line is huge now. Pants just starting to feel uncomfortable. Following SPBR my thighs have somewhat decreased though as they are not as tight in trousers. Feels good IME and my weight is steadily moving up in the squat.

I cannot imagine 80lb DBL press fuuuuck

I also found jarude's post offensive. :embar:

    edit:
my shoulders by far are my weakest link, so weak!!!!!!! I get fatigued and so quickly doing 42.5 @ 3x8. by the 3rd set my shoulders gas out on the 4th rep (shoulder press)

All you guys that are getting checkups (or aren't getting checkups), you should get blood work done for your hormones and thyroid. I definitely suggest it.

A friend of mine just got his done from my suggestion and he came back with low testosterone (~250ng/dl).

Will do that. I have so many sick leave days accumulated, going to take 1 for a full checkup.

TBH I am scared due to what I may find out but then I'll never know if I don't.

It takes like an hour to get a full physical, unless you're going in for an exercise stress test or something.

we're not. i just disagreed at the lulzworthiness of something he posted and it weirdly spiraled out of control

i have like 0 investment in the argument though and would rather we keep talking about lifting and stuff. no hate :)
