i have an ultrasound on my shoulder in a couple weeks, i really hope to hell it is not a rotator cuff tear, minor or not. random sensations in my forearm suggest it is a pinched nerve but i don't get physio coverage for another 3 months so it would be a crushing fucking disappointment if i had to lay off lifting for that long. annoying enough being out 3 weeks now, let alone waiting another 2 for an appointment.

just gonna get on band dislocations and rotator cuff stuff daily and see if that makes any improvements

Have you had all the physical exam tests done on you to evaluate your shoulder?

thanks for the feel, bro. how am i ever going to get a tight snatch or jerk in public with a broken shoulder :(:(

all the doc did was get me to put my hand behind me at my lower back and ask me to push back, then she crossed my injured shoulder arm over my opposite shoulder and pressed against my elbow and told me to press back. no pain on either one. my shoulder only consistently hurts when i have my arm fully extended vertically or when i cross my arm across my body (think turning a steering wheel to the right). the pain only happens at the end of the ROM. other than that, i have random pains within the shoulder, usually after waking up. i did have random aches/numbness in the tricep and down into the forearm but those have mostly subsided. she said she thought it was an impingement / pinched nerve, prescribed some anti-inflammatories and got me an ultrasound appointment. huge improvement over my family doc who tells me to stop using my arm and stop lifting.

i last tried lifting about a week ago iirc, once i get my pills and given the rotator stuff is friendly i might start with some ultra-light weight volume stuff.

Had the cortisone shot in the labrum around the hip joint. Supposed to steer clear of exercise for a week then do a week or two of PT and see how I am feeling. Cortisone should begin working in a couple days. I guess this is what it's like to be a semi-injured football player.

also what is it that plebs on this forum somehow think adequate protein intake via diet automatically means downing some brotein shakes and shit.

some dudes asked me to teach them how to DL, had to keep reminding myself not to show them a clean dl

When I first started I was on the whey train, having one or two scoops a day to get my protein up to 200g or whatever. Shit is expensive here and I found it easier just to have a few extra glasses of milk and eat more meat instead.

I don't even really track my diet anymore. It was helpful initially but my diet doesn't vary too much so I know roughly what I'm eating, and go by feel. I also check the scale once a week and make sure I'm going up 1-2 pounds. I actually found that I was under eating when tracking and actually limiting the variety of food in my diet because I was too overly concerned about macros. I imagine this might be common for a skinny fat dude just starting out. It was helpful initially to get my bearings though. I guess this goes against what everybody here says but whatever.

See y'all in 6 months when I'm phat/ripped as phuck.

First day back at the gym. Gonna do some squats at 70% and some accessory work. I think im gonna go up to 200lb again, I havent made significant strength gains in a while and I think im being limited by my mass.

How much do you weigh again? I thought your squat was closer to 130kg.

Im 180lb and yeah I ment up in bw. Running a smolov base meso cycle with a max of 150kg. It's a bit low, but I just had nearly 3 weeks off and doing smolov with a real max is ridiculously hard, also means I can do some light accessory work without dieing. Hoping it will get my squat up to 170kg, which was my max when I was around 200-210ish and on a cambered bar. First day of smolov felt easy, 4x9x70%. Always find the high rep days easier then the 10x3x85%

front squat holds are so hard. did 315 for 3x20 seconds, felt like death. Feel it more in my upper back then my abs. learnt to set the safety pins right below the hooks since I ended up missing the hooks.

How to do pull throughs correctly? Did them today for the first time. Using them as a lower back exercise not a hamstring one. Guessing I should round my lower back on these instead of keeping it arched because the weights very low?
