Tweaked my back today doing clean and jerk at BW after going to the climbing gym yesterday. New lesson do chest and tris after climbing not back and biceps. Hopefully it'll only be a couple days.

Just got back from a weekend in Myrtle Beach. Look and feel like shit. Will see how deadlifts go tomorrow. Gonna try and really punish myself for indulging over the weekend.

fuck didn't think you were that big. Based on photos I wouldn't have thought more then like 170. What kind of lifts are you putting up?

After I topped out on SS, I tried a few systems and wasn't really happy. I'm currently running Greyskull LP, which is a tweaked SS that does more upper body work and limits squats to 2x weekly. It's close enough to SS to feel familiar but leaves some gas in the tank for sports/running/rowing/swimming.

What are your guys' thoughts on mini-cuts? The bulk is going strong, but I'm developing dontwannalosemyabsitis. I'm considering mini-cutting for 2 weeks to drop 4-5 pounds of fat, then continuing the bulk.

disregard SL. if you really want to squat more then switch out the leg press for front squats or high bar squats after DL's in spbr.

    Thanks for the responses.

I like the look of the grayskull LP a lot. May give that a go.

@Fuji - it's weird, no one guesses that i weigh 200 lbs. Maybe because I wear a lot of black and have decent posture? also my age. I make sidebets at poker games that people cant get close to either one.

Anyone know of a good plan to follow while cutting? Spending a long time at the gym isn't an issue; I can workout 4-5 days a week, I climb every friday, yoga every wednesday and jiu-jitsu every sunday. I don't really like having a day off where I do absolutely nothing, I've been sober 2 years and when I take the day off I can't sleep. Also want to avoid leg press/squat really, anything that going to add bulk to my already massive skier/cyclist quads. I know I probably won't make and size gains while cutting but maybe I can still hit some PR on the bench?

    Wut 200lbs squatting below BW.

5/3/1 has done wonders for me being able to do 1.5x BW squats. YMMV. I'm a 155 lb runt and wear fashion clothes.

Been doing a bit of reading around this area. The consensus seems to be that it doesnt work like that. What i found and tend to agree with is that you should hold a bodyweight for a good long time before starting to cut. E.g get to 200lbs, hold it for 4-6 months, clean up the diet and recomp slightly, then think about cutting.....if you need to. Otherwise the body is to keen to get rid of new muscle tissue that it isnt used to carrying.

And of course, the only guy in that article that can confirm that protein shakes had a negative effect on him, took 7 of them every day.

Anything can harm your health if you take too much of it.
