    The goblet squat is hard to load. My girlfriend has used a 45lb db for the goblet, but it's hard/heavy to hold.

    Off topic...

    So I started my Psychiatry rotation last week. I work with the sickest patients...the ones who require hospitalization. About 30 minutes ago the orderlies had to break up two patients that were caught making out. Apparently it's a huge problem here...patients trying to hook up lol. A lot of them meet while they are committed to our center and start dating. It's like hook-up center for the crazies of SW Virginia.

    Another local psych center got in big trouble a few years ago when a patient got pregnant on their service, lol.

    Do any of youse guys drink premade shakes? I really like OhYeah Nutrition facts here. Is there any reason not to drink these, besides cost? They're usually 2/$6.

    It depends on the shake. Some use soy protein, some have too much sugar, usually they have too much fats, though. The Oh Yeah! one doesn't seem too bad, but, to give you an idea, too much fat for me for a serving.

    But to answer your question, no, not really. I once bought a pack of those test tube protein shots - they were just protein and nothing else. They are not cheap but this was on a big special (something like .50c each) and I figured it'd be handy for when I forgot my lunch/meal.

    Recently hit 445 for DL, +40 from what I was doing in May
    Going for 415 ATG Squat later today
    I never go super heavy on bench..but was able to hit 225 x 9 last week which was a PR for me. Hoping I can hit x 10 in the next couple weeks so I can start adding more weight.

    How to get 1:1 BW press? I did 4 reps at 145 today (weight 170) and that was basically a PR.

    I've been following 5/3/1. I've been stuck with about a 155 1rm for a long time (6 months or so) though several cycles.

    Yup, I'm in HK. That would be awesome if you were here, I'll show you around. Also, come to my gym; 100% guarantee you'd be the strongest person there. It's a gym fuji would love.


    If that was my bench my man-card must be revoked.

    yeah ill let you know if its more of a reality. the idea is 3days hk and 2 days singapore. i dont know dick about it and havent done any research about it

    Nobody ever has good advice on how to increase one's press. Almost everyone has "a program". Almost everyone is stalled on the press. Someone always chimes in with push presses and it's horseshit. You can increase your press by gaining weight, which also borders on useless advice.

    I've begun programming two press days into my 5/3/1 program. One is calculated out for approximately 5/3/1 max reps and the other for 10/8/5 max reps, so there is a "light press" and a "heavy press" each week. This has actually begun working and I added a rep to the last two press days for the weight used.

    This is very similar to what I do, except I alternate heavy / light and press twice a week (work out 5 days a week + supplement with exercise).
