GUys I am going to fucking quit lifting weights over my squat. Everytime I think Im making progress I realize my form is awful and when I switch to good form I can only do absurdly low weight.....

Even if your form sucks you've probably gotten stronger.. I wasn't using enough posterior chain in my squat and once i fixed the issue i got back to (and surpassed) my previous max in about 6 weeks.

    Are you in NYC?

    sup dudes.

So I'm doing starting strength for the like 3rd time. My lifting routines always get fucked up when I start school because of rigorous academics and extracurriculars. I think I'm still building linearly back to my old weights but I'm eating at a caloric deficit to lose some weight before my rugby season starts.

I'm having a crisis of faith and am not sure how best to train for my upcoming rugby season. Cardio is really important for the sport. I'm not sure whether to continue doing SS and supplement it with running a 2-3 miles twice a week or to supplement it with HIIT training. This is in addition to 2 or 3 weekly practices.

i want to say that sounds like a lot but my roommate is a beast of an md phd who practices brazilian jujitsu and thai kickboxing for 2 hours each time 6 days a week and many times will then go to the gym and lift weights and break with me. he does eat and sleep a lot tho. he basically exercises every day and will take a break for a day when he feels like it. seems to work for him

With the ab strain i've started sprint workouts. Figured out how to make it working on the treadmill. Jogging 200 m @ 5 mph and then running 200m @ 9 mph.

I only could do it four times before i felt completely gassed. Next time i'll try 5. :slayer:

You don't have access to a track? It's SO much better for your knees and much more fun to run on. Also, HIIT sprint workouts are fucking awesome.

    yeah sprinting is pretty awesome

although I do almost zero cardio at present, if I did some it'd be that.

OMG ILL BE IN NJ/NY TO SEE MY GRAND PARENTS AT LIKE AUGUST 26TH WE CAN HAVE A STYLEFORUM GYM MEAT UP

My grand parents moved to a place full of old people. It's not an old peoples home, but it's an apartment complex, which happens to have loads of old people. It also has a gym, brb max effort squats with 70 year olds.

Did really wide grip pull ups, could only do 5. Feels beta man. Shit day at the gym, lost a rep on my db incline bench.
