Even if you do follow it, it gives you an ugly as fuck body even after you cut. Dat feel when all lower body, no chest, arms or delt width, just dat ass and quads. Always lol at the SS "transformations". It's a strength program, don't know why people recommend it for trying to get aesthetic, is wasn't designed with that in mind.

Reading comments in the article there so lolzy "obesity, which is a hormonal problem, not a behavioral problem" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA shut up fatties. Its just the fat "people" have a lower marginal rate of substitution of looking aesthetic to food. It's a bobosian economic problem.

A few times. Maybe a 13-14%. Kept a lot of increases in bodyfat percentage (not total bodyfat) at bay by keeping my macros in line with my plans and busting my ass.

First time low-bar in a few years. Gotta fix some things but overall felt fine..Maybe a bit of rounding, maybe not. *felt* fine. I imagine elbows under bar more would fix the issue. 2nd set of ~ 4 away from fail.

Do you use any BB movements for upper body? Im going over to push pull legs as well, probably the only BB movement i will use is yates rows. All DB for push day, looking like:

    incline db
    decline db
    one arm upright row
    lateral raise
    2 tricep movements

I did SPBR and at 145-150lb, stalled on all my lifts

I stopped the program after getting sick in early 2012 / small injury and really fucked up my schedule. Now, I hopped onto whatever the hell my brother is doing, going at a rate of 2x a week 'M' and 'W,' I dropped DL completely and my current lifts

Basically I can lift a plate now with ease, hooray! I think once I get back on track going 4x a week as before, I should improve steadily...

Trying to hit 185lb on bench/squat by mid-to-year-end. I know its laughable but my diet with 0 supplements i.e. protein shakes et al really make recovery / gains hard for me. I have been eating a lot more carbs to gain weight so now I am about 155lb (5'10). I think I am most like 'Flame' but dude is much stronger. I have similar goals, wanting to stay lean with muscle and agile enough to still shoot the 13" jumper on the court. My core + chest is also very soft, physiologically, how do I keep it firm rather than flabby? Also knucks, how to address knee problems with doing squats? I am ineligible for the Bulgarian method. My knees don't hurt but they feel odd. Bro says stance too wide.

Please feel free to rip me apart. And Jarude, it's not like I chose not to listen, but tweaked it to where I can actually follow through on my own grounds. I can say my strength compared to 1.3 years ago is much improved but I'm still a beginner.

SS makes you aesthetic in the same way that Crossfit makes you strong

Toasty you should just go all aesthetics and forget about having a good bench, deadlift, or squat. In order to have a good form and strong deadlift or squat you're going to have to some developed quads and hips.. i just dont see that playing into your current aesthetics.

I don't like SS either. I don't think it's a very well thought out program.

I do agree that it's not a very good program to run to build size or strength upon.

But I do not agree with your state, "it's a strength program... aesthetic, it wasn't designed with that in mind."

Because a program's main goal is strength-oriented, doesn't mean it's not good for size. Some of the best ways to get big are through strength-oriented programs.

    But yes, SS sucks.

Yea but some peoples conception of big is different. I think I'm big now because i have a large back and wear a size large in shirts.. but some people might have thought i was bigger my first year of college when i was 150lbs at 13% bodyfat and did a bodybuilding program.

I use an EZ bar on upright rows and some tricep movements if that counts? Only movements I do with an actual barbell are squats and RDLs. I've stopped doing incline for a bit and am focusing on flat because somehow I feel it more in my chest. Why would you do upright rows on push day and why would you do them 1 handed? Maybe add a flying movement? I find my press day is my shortest day because I can't find many movements i like.

Kind of agree with coldsnap, wish I trained like how I do now since I started lifting, contrary to what some people will say squats do not do particularly much for biceps and neither does a set of pendlay rows one in a while. As much fun as strength training is it's not the best for most peoples goals of looking good, it's just simple and hard to fuck up, but assuming your not dumb as shit a beginner should be able to not fuck up a hypertrophy routine.

edit: I didn't say SS wouldn't make it bigger, just that its not optimal and ripptoe didn't design it with that in mind. Obviously getting stronger will make you bigger, before I started doing my current split I only did strength programs and I grew significantly.
