Again unless they were dictating all factors outside that could affect health indicators - which unless they have them under lock and key and even then that would make for negative health indicators due to the increased stress of being imprisoned...then it is very likely that variables were not maintained. That is a problem inherent with human health science, most of it is correlative and not causation based evidence wherein the correlations can be affected - both positively but more often negatively by environmental factors not in the control of the scientist conducting the research. This is why I call into question a statement that there is a significant minority of people do not respond to exercise in any capacity.
Logically, ask yourself this. Is it more likely that someone does not respond to exercise in any capacity, or is it more likely that they are doing something that is negating effects they could be receiving from exercise? In this day and age, I'm most likely going to choose the later and question the research being done.
My fictitious conversations previously posted were an effort to severely dumb down the point I was making and use a very likely scenario that I've seen with clients that causes a disconnect between what is stated in science and what is actually a reality.
You've loaded your question beyond any imagination of reality. No motile cell fits the first 14 words, so it's a moot point.
It strikes me as odd that we readily accept that no program works for any two people the same way, yet we want to pretend that everyone has this amazing capacity which only needs unlocked by the right combination of imaginary bullshit.
You know there's a point of thinking about lifting, and y'all have surpassed it.
Re: 1 - the bursting blood vessels are probably the result of you clenching a bit too hard. it happened to me when i first started doing handstand pushups. it goes away.
Re: 2 - I suspect one-legged RDLS with 15 lbs are more likely to induce a nervous response than a muscular response. Still, training the nervous system is as important as training the muscular system.
swimming sucks, am eating 3k cals a day and losing weight. not just leaning out, i feel like im getting smaller all around. knees and shoulders also feel messed up, lifts have still been going up but i fear i will have to skip squats and deads until my knee unfucks itself.
4k/day, sit on my ass all day (besides lifting), and I can't gain weight. No complaining!
If not mistaken, you're already pretty beastly though.
Thinking about starting bench press again. Will probably do it with a narrow grip and tucked elbows. I figure when I plateau the incline db bench ill switch to that.
I'm 5'11" and ~193, so I'm hardly beastly.
Couldn't complete my squat workout again yesterday. Work set was 50x5x2 (like Wednesday). On Monday I was able to do 50x5x3 but I fear I overtrained, wasn't quiet getting enough calories, and did too much gardening over the weekend. At this point I'm not sure whether to attempt 50x5x3 again next week, or to go back down to 47.5. Soreness in legs is pretty extreme.
