Saw a guy in the gym today that used to go to my old gym. Last time i saw him was probably a year ago when he was about 6'3 and probably 140lb, with larger bone structure than me. I was like 160lb at the time and doing 3 x 8 dips, he tried to join me for a set and couldnt do a single unassisted dip. The rest of his routine was going round every single machine with really light weight and just lifting it with little effort. Well he must have sorted his routine and started eating, because his upper body is now quite well developed, was really impressed with his chest and tris, a lot better than mine. He has no legs and not much back though, but seriously mirin progress. Seems to be doing a very high volume chest/tri workout. Nice to see another extreme ecto make progress.

Also broke the leg curl machine. Its a seated one, and the pad that holds your quads in place with handles to brace against bent and wont stay in place on the pin anymore. The only other leg curl we have is where you stand and lean forward on a chest pad, then curl your leg up behind you, does one leg at a time. Might have to switch to that, its probably better anyway.

I cant. Not missing squats, deadlift and leg press combo is far more enjoyable.

Lolziest guy at the gym. Will be reporting what he says to all of you. Russian brah, his gf is the top bench presser in her weight class, she's 50kg and benches like 2.5 bw. Barely speaks english and he's fucking hilarious. His lifting partner was complaining about lifting his reply "stop being a crying bitch", was complaining about bruises from wearing belt , russian brah gets his stomach out slaps it and says you need a belly for protection, women comes into the gym says really loudly "I like women in the gym". Told him im american "who do you think is better russian or american power lifter" tell him I don't really know (was thinking america, but was scared to say because of his alphaness) just screamed Russia at me. When his training partner asked how old I am and said it's good i'm training young he said his cousin in Russia has started training at 6 and he will be a beast by the time he is my age.
Also asked him if he thought Klokov would win his weight class in the olympics, pronounced it wrong, appaz it klakov, he raged at me bastardising the name.

He squatted 280kg, deadlifted 280kg and benched 180kg at bw of 100kg raw. I am miring. He looks like a turtle.

I over head pressed 38kg dbs for 3 today, was hoping for 5, will get it next time.

Really? I thought he was slewing everyone and was the master race of olympic lifting. Whose gonna beat him? I don't really know any other oly lifters, I like him though because he seems funny.

After my deadlift today I decided to try racking the bar and stretching into the rack position for the power clean. I discovered that I was previously racking the bar too low, hence why I was having trouble lifting my elbows. Because I don't have much meat on my bones, the bar sits right at the base of my neck. I tried a few exercises from SS, e.g. 'jumping' with the bar sitting mid-thigh and getting it onto my shoulders. The empty bar feels a bit heavy for me but I think it should be OK next week.

Squats killed me today. Up to 47.5 kg. Today was the first day I actually thought I might fail a rep or two. I think next week, depending on my BW increase, I'll have to up my diet to 3000 kcal. Press is at 32.5 kg, came close to failing that too.

If all goes well, by the end up next week I could be squatting BW.

The smallest weights at my gym are 1.25 kg. Do you guys find it necessary to get anything smaller? I don't see myself taking 2.5 kg jumps for too long with my press.

I would love smaller weights for press, but I don't think there necessary. I only do dumbbell press so my jumps are 2kg per side and its been fine. I have considered getting smaller ones though. You can get little magnetic ones for dbs.

Are you actually doing SS? [IMG] I would strongly recommend posting a form check on the SS forums, especially for the clean. It helped me a lot and a video is the best way to check it out.

I found that after a while I needed to get smaller plates for micro-loading. Your BP and OHP will likely need 2.5lbs (or less) increases in a couple months, at least that's what most people find.

And good luck on BW squat, always a good feeling.

Bought an oly barbell and around 250 lbs of weight off of guy from Craig's List this week (more than enough to keep my entertained for now). Went into a place that sells new and used commercial grade equipment and got an okay deal on a power rack. The upside is that they will deliver which is nice since I don't really have any means of getting it to my house. Now I just need to get a decent bench off of Craig's List and I'll no longer be dependent on my Rec Center's array of mediocre machines.

Nice! Home gyms are the way to go. What's the brand of all the equipment?
