Dman, I'm busting out of my APC PS. I think I'm done with tight fitting jeans, shit it just miserable if you have big thighs. APC New Standards are coming back into my rotation. Any other fits that are nice? I've always liked the Levi 501 but that leg opening gets a bit too big for me.

quick question not worth starting a thread - how long are you guys resting between lifting days? has it changed as you get older?

I think that I need at least 3 days (2 rest days, excersize on the 3rd day) , and maybe 4 days works even better, at this point in life (45). I find that if I only rest 1 day between lifting I lose a lot of strength. I think that that may just be the way my body is aging.

During cutting season I lift 6x a week. During bulking season I drop down to 5, occasionally 4.

A good O-lift pull uses the hips and lower back a lot. What movement is great for adding strength and power to the hips and lower back? Yep, back squat. Back squat has more carry-over to O-lift pulls than a deadlift does. Of course, deep squat also helps get out of the hole when you're under the bar.

Technique takes a LOT of practice. Not months, years. I've been going at it for about a year now, and I still fuck up my feet a lot, start pulls too early, get my shoulders too far forward, etc. Small stuff, sure, but it's the small stuff that takes you beyond "jump and shrug" technique that will max out at bodyweight C&J. It's that small stuff that will have you hoisting 300 lbs over your head like no big deal.

Anyway, speaking of squatting, here's a little something to make us all feel like weak pieces of shit.

I have 100g finely ground oats with whey, milk, fruit juice, olive oil etc. The whey or juice flavours the oats and its easy drinking of like 800 calories. Not sure if oats are as good by drinking them but oh well.

For box squats, how long do I pause @ the bottom of the squat / when my butt is seated?

Because I find I can lift way easier if i just make contact with the box for a split second, then explode upwards.

Looking to train here to increase max vert.
