if you're looking for dirt cheap oly shoes, something like the VS athletics shoes or Wei-Rui would be my choice, don't think those even run up to $60 - the VS ones are older do-wins with a higher heel. Should be available in the UK for next to nothing.

They will ship to me for free because I have an APO address so I'm not worried about postage. From what I've seen in the UK oly shoes are really expensive, like $300 for adidas. Don't know of any UK or european brands, only ones I know are adidas, nike and Do win.

Edit: attempting to find a UK dealer for VS, I don't mind spending a bit more money on the 2012 dowins for a better shoe.

For some reason everyone in my gym has the Adidas one without the wooden heel. I've seen a guy squat 400lbs in them so they seem OK i guess.

there's that and then there's the power perfect 2 which is supposed to have a harder heel than the powerlift trainer

Don't know how to size them, I'm an 11 in converse and 11 in pretty much everything other then Nikes or adidas, guessing an 11 will be ok?

I went down a full size from my regular sneaker size for my DoWins.

Where do you get most of your weightlifting stuff from?

Bought some light soy milk this morning, £1.42 (a bit under US$2) for a litre, 2g protein, 0.1g carb and 1.2g fat per 100ml. Tastes quite nice.

I ordered wrist wraps from pullum sport, belt, knee wraps and chalk from inzer and knee sleeves from strength shop. Rogue is telling me they run true to size and to buy my normal size, so I'll go with an 11 and see if they fit. I wear my shoes pretty tight on me anyway. How narrow do you need to squat to get anything out of these?

I've been having a lot of unsweetened almond milk lately. Only 40 calories a cup, make some good protein shakes with ice, trutein, and almond milk -- 155 calories.

Almond milk doesn't have any protein though. I just alternate between soy and 2%

i got those 2012 rogue do-wins... obviously not the best spokesperson for them but they are clearly superior to chucks for squatting and doing things like power cleans. i agree with the sizing info on their site... bought 9.5 (dress shoe size is 9.5D... nikes/nb in 10). toe box is a little wide but i wouldn't have sized down any further.
