It'll be like night and day dude, I guarantee. I know you want to be all barebones no equipment and stuff but you're a good lifter, you've earned the right to use oly shoes.

I'm considering buying cheap oly shoes, like do wins or something. I squat maybe 6" past shoulder width, is that narrow enough to benefit from them?

Who is that? Just a random dude?

Squats about a half foot above parallel and then gets pinned? :slayer:

Mine only came with the competition insoles. My shoes are prototypes/samples of the 08 Beijing ones, maybe that's why.

This is me miserably failing a 1RM not even close to parallel. Just pure pathetic.

Usually I get lower, but I could tell I couldn't handle the weight. Fucking awful.

Part of the problem was my torso tilted forward more than usual. I got to the pins at a shallower squat than normal. I guess I'll take a step back and just work on reps with 315 before I try that again. :(

TKJTG, looks like you may have a pretty narrow stance too for the way you're squatting...toes pointed out at all? hard to tell..

Ya know, I think on that attempt it might have been. I'm not actually sure. Maybe next week I'll post a video of me doing 315 and get some form feedback.

I can get 6-7 with good form to at least parallel and after that it gets shaky. Early last week I got to 8 and figured that meant I could go for 405 for a 1RM. Was wrong.

Also, I can't really do heavy full squats due to a knee issue, so slightly below parallel is as good as it gets.

i dont think they are shit, but iirc they are 'trainers' with a heel. i think it was meant more for crossfit bullshit. the rogue ones will be fine, if youre in the UK i'd look at european makers or even chinese made shoes though.
