is wearing compression tights a bad idea? no knee socks or baby powder. i guess i dont need it now
If it creates less friction, then it's not a bad idea at all.
Although, it's nice to build up deadlift scars all over your shins. Manly stuff
sumo pulling preserves my shins. i have a pair of fairly thick sweats i wear for deadlifting and i HATE pulling without them. drives me nuts.

Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy the pain of the bar shredding my shins. Seeing bloody shins/knees make me very happy.
i've seen a few of ex's videos and when he pulls he scrapes his thighs slightly as he goes up. is that something i should aim for?

remember that video of him pulling 400x36 or something ridiculous like that? half of his damn calves peeled off and started spewing blood at the 12th rep or so. fucking gnarly stuff; that guy is a freak.
edit: it was 440x37, and damn. just watch the shins...
Yep, most guys that pull conventional with optimal leverage will. If you don't come up again against your thighs, your leverage is way off due too prematurely extending your legs.

I took a day off today, ate a triple decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich as a cheat meal just now and I feel like a mother f'ng champ.
Video is making me want to start deadlifting again. I have very long arms and pull sumo so I have a tiny ROM, I pulled like 185kg with a 120kg squat, just don't feel like they did anything for my physique at all and they tax my CNS hard. Never got DOMS from them though. Never scraped my knees up too badly, cut them up a lot when I pulled conventional.
Belts are great, get one. All I had to do when i pulled sumo was pretty much just tense my core and the weight would break from the floor. I love mine, best lifting related thing I've bought.
Only thing about belts is to make sure you still work core/lower back though. A lot of newer guys forget this and then they do shit without the belt and get injured.

thought i would try squatting today since i can do body weight squats without pain. First rep with the empty bar, hip flexor hurt. Managed some light leg press, extensions, and curls. It's been at least 2 months since i've been able to squat. Looks like my summer bulk will be an upper body focused one. Anyone recommend a bulking routine without squats, deads, leg press?
I'm in the states. I've checked their website, but didn't see Uniqlo listed under the stores. Read that you can use a bookmarklet or something and they can still proxy for you, but I have no idea how to do that.

And you forgot to mention that he had to put that down because his straps were failing. He had an easy 45 in him if he wanted.
But going back to what happened. I see a few people here complaining about straining their hip flexors. I wonder if any of you guys actual do something about it and do hip flexion exercises to strength that area (or just shitty squatting technique).
