I sometimes hang my body upside down. I feel the blood rushing through my head and later my head feels light and clear. You guys should try it once. 5 min per day for everyday.

How much harder is a lacross ball than a tennis ball? Nobody plays lacrosse down here so none of the stores sell them.

A tennis ball is like a marshmallow compared to a lacrosse ball. I found mine at a Sports Authority for $2 and no one here plays lacrosse.

edit: the lacrosse ball feels like it's solid rubber. It hardly has any give.

A lacrosse ball is closer to a hockey puck than a tennis ball. You'd know that if you would've gone to Duke. You would've also have banged some chick from Shooters if you knew how to use that ball correctly. Duh.

And been a part of a "rigorous" scientific study if you had banged the right/wrong chicka.

Athletic tape was suggested as was the ultra-ghetto soda bottle shinguard.

Why not use an actual shinguard? They're not that thick that they would protrude the bar far enough away from your plane of motion.

Edit- read in that thread about a Zottman curl. What the hell is that? Is that another Crossfit activity?

Ok i've been watching the Commonwealth games weightlifting. Great fun but i'm still thinking WTF? In the 105kg division the heaviest C&J was 191kg.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weightl...Men%27s_105_kg

Didn't Pyrros Dimas do 20kg heavier at a bodyweight 20kg lighter 15 years ago?

    a) Do the commonwealth weightlifters just suck that bad compared to the olympic lifters?

    b) Was there some kind of "golden period" (read:roids)?

Olympic records have had to change because of the change in weight classes so most of the records have been set in the past 10 years since the change. However, "Olympic Standards" have been set for where there was a record in similar weight classes (e.g. Dimas' 213kg C&J).

    Zottman curls? Love that lift.

It's a regular dumbell curl on the concentric motion, squeeze at the top, rotate the DB and do a reverse curl on the eccentric portion. Try them slow- like a a 5-1-5 tempo.

They're great in supersets, trisets or, as in this example, 21's:

yes, they just "suck" compared to real lifters.

look at the recent results from worlds: http://www.iwf.net/results/results_r...p?placecod=116. In 105, the winner got 415 vs 338 kilos.

Best lift was Liao Hui and as a 69kg lifter he totaled 20 kg more than the winner of the 105. I think i posted a link to a vid of his lifts when it happened, but if not here it is again.

You don't need a 3rd attempt when you set a world record on your second lift...
