I'm a big fan of the easy 40/30/30 or 40/25/35.
We should probably get some vids before suggesting anything. If his form is still terrible, he needs higher reps to get that shit down, IMO. Also will not hurt in putting on mass.

Are you considering doing PHAT? You could do them with a barbell or a smith machine. I'd just do front squats or another form of quad dominant squat.
I always thought the strict macro ratios were a bit overkill. So long as I get 200g of protein I make great gains. Even with as low as 100g/day I still make gains. Usually I get to about 40% of my calories from protein, but carbs and fat are widely variable. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

I don't really count macros either, estimate protein, hitting a least 200g a day, but as TKJTG said still take in a lot of fats and carbs. Cannot train without carbs effectively, feel weak, can't work out for long.

i'd do it for max. Anyone can squat 50% of there max with perfect form. Guessing gettoasty stopped lifting, is a shame.
