Not a lifting day but this powerlifting talk sort of inspired me to try to total out tonight at the gym for fun.

Trust me, I've considered just giving up going to the gym entirely (especially seeing some assholes start with just the bar and wind up squatting 2 plates for reps in like, 6 weeks). Even with a hip injury last December and shoulder injury in January, I realize my numbers are pathetic. Just kill myself now?

It is very hard to believe that you were at all on the correct track this entire time.

Yeah, I really like it, have had amazing gains on it. I'm doing much less exercises then he recommends and I don't go past 10 reps, do not feel like doing 3 exercises for my calves to be honest and my strength days are in my opinion better suited to strength gains then what he recommends. I find it much more fun then straight strength training. Also it's nice to be able to not have to follow such a strict routine, I can change up the lighter lifts when I want to to stuff I find works better.

No breakdown. Just made sure to hit at least 3k/day (rarely went over) and at least 1BW protein/day (often went over).

FWIW, this is the first time in months where I actually feel like I'm recovering fast enough to be able to squat 3x/week. Bench and OHP have been stuck for about a month. I need to take new squat and dl videos... I have ones from 3 months ago which were garbage and not a good indication of where I am now.

Agreed. Somethings must've been way off Bacon. Videos would help a lot!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but for an obvious hardgainer like yourself (and myself) you gotta throw down at least 1.5-2 grams of protein per lb for growth and strength gains.

start tracking your diet, find a point where you don't get super fat; you are probably over-estimating your calorie needs. try to hit 1.5g protein/lb bw or 40/30/30 of your daily calorie total. and if you are interested in dropping some of that fat you gained i would try and keep your macros tuned in. 40/30/30 worked well for me.

drop SS, switch to http://www.ironaddicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8050 - this is more fun than SS and you will be able to smash linear progression with it for awhile.

    take vids
