You've been in Asia too long if you think durian is good. It may just be the foulest commonly available food on this planet.
Ever had natto? PS: Don't hate on my banana homies

ouch! Well RO was adopted as the "acceptable" designer by sufuers and SFers.

If anyone deserves the "goth ninja" moniker, it's Rick Owens. Everyone else is a Johnny come lately. About the same time Rick started being noticed for pretty much the same stuff that he is noticed for now, in 2000-2001 or so, Cloak was doing suiting an shirting that looked sort of dark dandy, like it went through the looking glass or something, and CCP was doing wierd conceptual pieces like a turtleneck that was meant to be worn with a tie. Most of the other designers catering to people who read a little to much into Goethe were probably still in high school or college. Atelier wasn't around. And there was definitely no Archive.

Julius started it's first iteration "Nuke" in 99 IIRC. The whole Continues/Carpe Diem/Altieri family was around too.
