1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

he was referring to her baseball card collection. now that she's no longer designing, she spends her time soaking vintage cards of famous athletes in black dye. it's a cheeky commentary on the passage of time and the nature of meaning, but I can understand why shops would no longer want to carry overpriced black rectangles.

Definitely the sort of thing that deserves a subforum-wide announcement rather than just a thread. (Esp if we can gather all our collective forum muscle and negotiate a presale discount!)

Is there a good San Francisco shops thread on here? I'll naturally gravitate toward Self Edge, but feel like I should spend money on more than just denim.

I want to see Zissou in Archive drapey ninja'd out.

MAC is nice (their main location), Unionmade is probably your speed. There's of course DH, MMM, SLP etc. boutiques too.

    No pre-sale discounts.

That's insane and discouraging, but at least I know that now.

Would a mailing list to subscribe to new pre-orders be something you'd find interesting?

yeah I just scan the SW&D main page and open whatever looks interesting -- or in LA GUy parlance... mingle in the bar. I don't even know what a subscription does/is.
