1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

best part of that is that someone thought "BuffaloWang" was a reasonable name to associate with their business.

I think that BuffaloWang has entirely miscalculated the type of person who typically inhabits SF. Far from being bothered about having to go shopping and select clothes, most of the people on this forum obsess over what clothes to get and spend an inordinate amount of time choosing them.

Replacing clothes isn't a hassle - it's a hobby for most people here!

Yeah and there's nothing like unsolicited advertisement in ones inbox.

Don't tell me that everyone here on SF is knowledge and knows where to shop... We've have ALL seen the threads posted and questions in the small questions threads. I agree with what you've said, but this service is nothing about replacing clothes. I sure as hell ain't going to be replacing clothes for the eclectic wardrobes here. But if you enjoy going out for underwear at the mall, then you're right, this isn't for you.

I kept this in PMs, but I'm sorry that you felt that it was an advertisement that hurt your feelings. It was relevant to what I saw and you were actively engaged in that conversation.
I sent PMs to people who were targeted. It'll become the simple answer for newbies when asked "where to start" or "what to get".

Now I'm getting ads for women's hair relaxer in the sidebar. Does the Internet know that I read Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie?

Also, either CP changed the shape of the soles they used or my feet are getting fatter (probably the latter). CP training boots are too narrow, and now I get to deal with the awesomeness of returning a large and expensive package to Canada.

So, by your own admission, you're targeting forum members in specific threads and, rather than have their questions answered here, redirect them to your website to build your own customer base?

    Oh yeah, this can't miss...

It was a simple introduction to a concept, but someone felt the need to bring it to light.
Since we're currently in the talks with SF, I'm going to stop making posts regarding this topic for now. :slayer:

It was an advertisement, and I certainly hope SF doesn't take you on as an advertiser after your shitty behaviour, for which you evidently feel no remorse.

I would normally post this in the "ask" thread but I've seen shopping recs in this thread before and it seems to be pretty knowledgeable and active. I'm in LA with my girlfriend for a wedding and she's worried about being underdressed with the dress she brought. I know nothing about LA, and she's hoping to spend under $500. Any particularly good shops/areas to hit if she's looking for a dress at that price point?

Edit: We're on the border between Hollywood and West Hollywood if that helps to narrow any recs.
