1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The bible says tattoos are wrong. Why put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari? People with tattoos are rebels. What will happen when they get old? People with tattoos are just sheep. Finding a job will be difficult. Tattoos are responsible for the spread of Hep C. Tattoos are a total waste of time and money, and are for sailors, hippies, hipsters, and criminals. Finally, I have never seen a tattoo enhance a person's natural beauty. It is like doing a controlled burn in a beautiful forest.

In my defense, you in a wig didn't make a very convincing woman.

    Thanks for all the advice.

I decided to go with a plain toe balmoral in burgundy shell cordovan as my go-to shoe for job interviews.

So tempted to get a wingtip pair because I love how shell looks on broguing but that might be pushing it.

What’s the current state of the debate on cuffs/no cuffs and pants? I have 3 pairs of wool pants that I need to get hemmed and I'm wondering if I should ask for a hem with cuff or not (just for information, I’m 5.8’). The pants are not part of a suit, I’m gonna wear them with boots/sneakers and knit/leather jacket. I like the clean aspect of cuffs but I’m also afraid that they would make look the pants too formal given my utilization and make me look really short… Any suggestion?

for me it kinda depends on what the other stuff is -- or what your style is in general. for lack of better words "classic" or "modern". if you're talking about workwear boots, chunky cable sweaters and vintage-y a2 bomber leathers go cuffs. sleeker slip-on boots, minimal knits or more modern looking leathers go no cuffs. still, it doesn't matter that much. I only have cuffs on a few suits. everything else is plain hem.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It could open up a whole new world of winter jacket possibilities for her if she doesn't have to worry about covering her legs to the knee.

Wouldn't it make sense to do a controlled burn occasionally to help reduce the risk of a major forest fire? :puzzled:
