1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Nice rec of Nonnative, cyc. I have not seen Minotaur yet, but will keep an eye out.

DWW- Thanks for the recs. I was sad that I missed out on the S&C chunky cardigan from NMWA last FW. I'll have to keep an eye out this year. I did check Berk, and they seem largely sold out. William Lockie does look nice, but a bit too CM/trad for my taste.

This probably isn't helpful either, but Rainmaker is a new Japanese brand by Kouichi Watanabe (formerly of N4). I haven't handled any of their stuff in person -- and they're not really a "heritage" brand per se -- but some of their knitwear and outerwear looks nice. A couple of the knits also kinda sorta look like something a fisherman would wear.

Nonnative may not work for you since you're so tall though

So you agree with what I said ;)

Haven't tried almond, but soy is okay.

Not all fats are bad and fat = flavor.

Are you sure you can "overeat" protein, how I got protein digestion explained the body will just pass it right through, if you over eat protein and the easiest thing to overeat calorie wise is sugar and starchy carbs.

    But bacon?

Never understood this argument for vegetarianism, if we didn't breed cows, pigs etc. for the leather and meat, their would be no reason to have and / breed them and they would therefor not get a long life on the farm, as they wouldn't get born and in the end they would go the way of the dodo

Who about SEH Kelly, Albam has some nice heritage knits from time to time made by small knitters like Stevenage, Andersen - Andersen, but that's more heritage than fashion.

I know the fashunz police like to go on and on about some supposed "air travel etiquette" and how appalling it is to wear sweats (or something other than jeans/chinos and a sports coat but fuck you if I have to sit on a 6 hour flight followed by a 14 hour flight with my almost 3-year old son you better believe I'm wearing sweats and it's not because I've "given up", it's because I'm going to do everything I can to remain comfortable.

The totalitarianism of comfort. I see this every time I fly domestic (or go to Whole Foods)

Domestic flights are a totally different story though.

Not on this side of the board. I feel like every time anyone here mentions air travel, there's also mention of some sort of Robert Geller lounge pant.

Zissou, as others have said, definitely SEH Kelly or the Albam collab with Stevenage Knitting Company. I have real problems with anything slightly scratchy (can barely wear a stark) and both of those are fine on me, feel so soft and luxurious.

on another note, can anyone id this vest for me pls? (from the sartorialist, might be lanvin but i can't find it). or recs for something similar?

RFT: I finally picked up a pair of rigid LVC 1947s, which I've wanted since before I joined SF. I'd forgotten how much I like unsanforized denim and the whole hot-soaking and air-drying process.

I've done this, and I always wear jeans. I also have a daughter under 7, and one under 5. There are also a lot of good looking technical pants, if that's your thing. I mean, if you want to wear sweats, it's not like I am going to pants you in the middle of the terminal, or point and scream at you, or even give you a second look, and it's not "unacceptable" in any way. But I do think that it looks dumb.

I'm wearing the Ervell "track pants".
Pretty much a chino/jogger hybrid with a "tech fabric". I just feel like people take the idea too far.
There are much worse things to deal with when taking a long flight than what some person you don't even know is wearing (ie/ heavy cologne/perfume, loud talkers, sleep deprivation, dudes watching porn on their laptops...)

Is there a thread about people's living spaces/furnishings/design? Official SF House Tour Thread?
