1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I wasnt in a waffle cone mood. Sometimes you just want an ice cream sundae for nostalgia.

Just got the dreaded cancellation email 4 days later from Soto Berlin. I think I got the "leave the item in the store for a few days in case we can sell it without shipping it" treatment. Makes me not want to give them business again honestly. I emailed for sizing help two weeks ago and never got a reply either.

Why are people hating on sundaes? I thought that was an item that was universally loved! They're delicious!

RFT: Finally made it to Dover Street Market in NY (never been to the OG) and I was completely underwhelmed. Everyone working there was a teenager and seemed like real asses. They layout was not interesting, it was just messy. And it was very cramped feeling in there. There was some decent product in there, but it was mixed in with some very very questionable stuff; and nothing as interesting as Seven used to sell.

    RFT: I miss Seven NY.

Source: worked in local ice cream shop through high school. Made sundaes, made waffle cones.

As a purported expert on the sundae, what's your take on the origin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundae#Contested_origins

I'm backing Ithaca, but I'm admittedly biased.

Somewhat fashion-related: Does anyone know whether there are supposed to be a couple of holes (which as far as I can tell are unrelated to lacing) at the top of the shaft on RO combat boots?

I've always put the origin of the sundae as sort of a Newton / Leibniz calculus situation - it was something that was necessary for mankind to move forward, so it only makes sense that the same thing would happen in multiple places at or around the same time, unbeknownst to each other.

Peter Luger's hot fudge sundae is the best bowl of ice cream I've ever eaten. Can't tell you why.

The real debate is whether or not nuts belong on a sundae (barring allergies). Laurence Fishburne had a fun little scene about this in Hoodlum.

I have no strong opinions about nuts on a sundae other than that a banana split requires walnuts (for others, it's all context and what you're trying to achieve that determines what is right and wrong in that situation), but if you ever allow ketchup to touch your eggs (including if you put an egg on a burger) please PM me so I can add you to my block list immediately.

The person to whom I'm related by marriage sometimes likes to put a couple of tablespoons of straight canned tomato soup in her scrambled eggs (after they've mostly set, but while still cooking). Claims it's a southern thing?
