1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Yeah, we're doing a couple of festivals. My first time in China so trying to make most out of it, was hoping to hit some stores and eat myself silly.

Unfortunately you didn't go to any of the major food attractions in China. If your used to Westernized Chinese food, your best bet is Shanghai. Beijing is alright but might not suit your palette. However for clothes shopping there are a lot of stores, the Chinese government taxes luxury imported goods, so anything you want, you will be able to find in these two cities. It will cost around 30-40% more compared to the USA.

Actually, looking for non-westernized stuff, I'm pretty open to everything and where I'm from it's hard to find anything even half-decent. Is there something essential I should try? Also, not necessarily looking for imported brands, any cool local ones?

You could check out local designers, mostly based in Shanghai. However, the stuff they make will be produced in China and be shoddy, or Italy and aimed at the rich population of China who really just want to be dressed like rich Westerners.

Pretty funny that Gilt calls anything made in Canada "imported" like it's a bad thing.

Wings and Horns, Todd Snyder, etc.

I was unaware anyone had done this. Regardless of being totally unware of the rest of the details for such a thing, I now want one so I can sit around in public and read Gibson's Bigend trilogy.

nonnative does not do their own footwear, and usually other companies end up doing it so sizing can be all over the place, can't really have a blanket sizing rec for them. I have one pair of boots and they are TTS, fwiw

Saw Noah tonight. Not a great movie, but the wardrobe was pretty cool.

Can't say I'm waiting. What was the collaboration before Wang? I think I totally missed it.

I really like the look of Folk, but people have said the quality sucks. Anything similar?

I'm in the market for an MMM 5-zip (a plain black one with silver zips). What seasons (mid-late 2000s?) and leathers are the good ones? And at 5'11"/140lbs/37"chest I'd take a 48, right?
