I've never seen a shawl collar sweater that I like, am I alone? I love shawl collared dinner jackets though. Who does a detail like this? I can't remember where I got this image from.

This isn't a random fashion thought, I just feel like bitching to no one in particular.

Sometimes I hate discount codes.

I ordered an item from a certain online shop at a discount. The item is not quite what I had expected (too large, too shiny) so I wanted to exchange it for a different item of the same price. But when I called to process the exchange on the phone, I was told that I could not receive the new item at the discounted price, since it was not identical to the first. And since the original promotion was only valid on a purchase over $100, I can't receive the (still active) promotion on the new item (which is just under $100).

So rather than simply exchanging the item in one transaction, I am forced to (1) return the original shirt (2) order a new shirt online (3) order a second, unwanted item in order to push my purchase over $100 (4) return the second, unwanted item (with free shipping). Ultimately this doesn’t cost me anything, but the whole process is annoying and it's going to wind up costing them more money than if they had just given me the discount on the phone.

Typically they stipulate that it has to be a single-item purchase. Bluefly always does, for instance. You may want to read the fine print just to be sure.

As long as the total purchase is over $100, I get the discount. That's how I did it the first time--two items totalling over $100. Only that time I actually wanted two items.

There's a little write up in Esquire about Uniqlo and it says that they are expanding throughout the US

I wish summer would **** off and just wait until it's meant to be here! August has no business being 34 degrees! Thats 93 to most of you. It makes it very difficult to enjoy sweaters and jackets for more than a week. Looks like t-shirts only for the next 10 months for me.

if we keep it up, it'll be a new record this saturday - 69 days of 100+ degree heat. That's like 43.5 or something to few of you.
