1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You need to decide what's worth the cash and what isn't, which is a personal decision...

Tan suede workboots are a great example of what I'd never consider spending a lot of money on unless they were something I wore all the time. If I can find something in the style and quality I want without spending a lot of cash, I do. Most basics fit this category. The more you can make fit this, the more money you will have for stuff that really matters to you.

Also, visvim is so far beyond my comprehension I just don't know what to say except UGLIEST. SHIT. EVER.

Definitely wasn't the case here in Vancouver. I think a lot of it has faded now though, it's more like Canada Goose bombers + True Religion jeans.

yes they are outdoorsy for when you say backpacking that's what I think of... carrying some shit from one city's train station to the next, or hostel to hostel is not backpacking, but whatever, to each his own. I don't know anything about the packs you've posted, but one thing I notice is lack of a waist belt to distribute the load is an automatic no-go for me.

FTFY... yes I've lived out of the same pack, outside, in actual nature without electricity, running water, a toilet or God forbid, even a cell phone for weeks at a time! imagine that. jfc.

Seems a lot of shit is far beyond your comprehension these days but there's no need to deride the guy's taste for liking an sf brand with a loyal following. I'm not a huge fan of visvim but there are probably a few pieces that are cool and making a ridiculously hyperbolic statement like that just underscores your insecurities much like your other sweeping remarks as of late.

OMG, I stated my opinion! I think visvim is ugly as hell and sucks, but since it's a popular brand I guess that's just not ok.

Sorry you didn't like it Jet, but I don't care and you can go fuck yourself. I've never met a bigger douchebag on here or anywhere for that matter.

Oh yeah, not like I don't get PMs agreeing with me...

There is a mean streak on this forum that is not tolerable. My comments about this forum being like a bunch of teenage girls is fucking spot on. The meanness, the groupthink, the cliques.... the way Hirsch and Isachenko were treated, the comments posted about brad-t's pic with the Japanese girl. How is this kind of shit even remotely acceptable in your world? Don't you have fucking parents that taught you the golden rule? And the degree that's it's tolerated by others, the fact the mods don't step in.... it makes this shit implicitly acceptable. Because of that, this place is really fucked up when it comes to stuff like that and people that are doing it or accepting it should be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed to even post here, which is where my comment about rather admitting to every porn site I've even been to rather than admit I post here.

But if this shows off my "insecurities" than fine, if it's insecure to not tolerate hateful, mean people then fine.

And finally, Jet accusing anyone else of insecurities is a laugh. Have you ever read your own posts mr. gangsta ish? You are a fucking joke.

I like Visvim a lot, some pieces are really ugly but there are many that I like. Prices can be reasonable if you look (I bought brand new Kudu Virgils for <$400, and almost nabbed a pair of tan suede virgil lows for $300). Not to mention they're actually some of the most comfortable boots I've ever had. That said Visvim "culture" is dumb and only chumps buy Vis at retail (and there are a whole lotta chumps in this world).

Visvim isn't even really an SF brand, and honestly it's kind of fallen off. Prices have gotten more and more ridiculous, styles are getting dumber and more redundant, 85% of noragi wearers look like doofball Jiro-dreams-of-shithead, etc. It's not nearly as popular as it once was, and honestly I've never seen much excitement/discussion here about the brand. If you wanted to be edgy, Dorje, you should start hating on Peir Wu, not Visvim.

What? Baller Sneaker Backlash was the seminal Styleforum album of late 2011.

Thanks for the sanctimonious dose of reality-check, I'm overcome with guilt and shame. You're a quality poaster don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise.

This might prove useful , top right of screen.

Styleforum SW&D has always been somewhat abrasive. For example, you're defending brad-t, a guy who has shit on dozens upon dozens of users for their opinions over the years (and, mind you, I like brad).

You post heavily on SZ which is one of the most insular, controlled mens fashion communities where questions/comments by new members are deleted simply because it doesn't fall in line with the regulars' flow of conversation. Would you rather have SF be like that? One of the best aspects of this community is how lightly moderated it is. Let's not turn this into sensitiveforum.

You're entitled to your opinions just as much jet is entitled to his. His opinion is that your perspective is bad. You're the one telling him to fuck himself for sharing his opinion, so don't jump behind the "omg it was just an opinion" defense if you're going to disregard the opinions of others and straight up insult them.

Oh yeah Shah, fuck you too.

I remember when you told me you thought I was trolling you for giving you a link to buy real agarwood (oud) oil. You said my taste was horrible for it. You know what's really funny? A fucking persian who doesn't know wtf oud is. And who thinks some of the best oud available in this entire planet is disgusting. Well, that confirmed to me that you are a complete idiot and your opinions mean less than nothing. Your reaction was like a little child who got a taste of his father's scotch, lol.

Ok, I did NOT defend brad-t. I condemned people's reaction to his post, which is a far cry from defending him.

Jet's post was a personal attack, not an opinion!

For all of SZ's issues, it has it's positives too. Faust would never let a lot of shit that I complain about go down, because as far as I can tell he is a decent person. I may not agree with him and everything he does but yeah, I would prefer mods that don't condone hate. Also, thought is actually encouraged, and some people actually like talking about things that are more than just superficial.
