1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Didn't wear short for like 10 years, so I have one pair of Folk short and they are about to die, so need some new ones.

The legs on shorts are 9 times out of 10 weird at best.

    2-D luv 4 life! :slayer:

My brother gave my girlfriend this as a holiday present:

She has no particular interest in or opinion about Nicholas Cage, although she was less enthusiastic about watching Wild at Heart than I was.

On a more relevant topic, can anyone tell me why this formula isn't working (in Excel)?

    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(C2,All!$C$2:$D$41790,2,FALSE),"no")

Column C (reference table) in the active spreadsheet is a list of ZIP Codes in text format. Column C in the spreadsheet 'All' (another tab in the same workbook) also contains ZIP Codes in text format. The formula is supposed to return the value from column D in the spreadsheet 'All' for every record where there's a match and return the text 'no' if there's no match.

Searching for a couple of ZIP Codes from column C of the active spreadsheet in the spreadsheet 'All', I can see that there are matches, but all of the records are returning 'no' instead of the value from column D.

You can't not have an opinion on Nick Cage.

I just figured out that I can reverse the vlookup - starting with column C in the 'All' spreadsheet as the reference table and column C in the other spreadsheet as the lookup table, and for whatever reason it works. I have no clue why it works in one direction but not the other, but I guess it's kind of irrelevant at this point.

Late to the party, but I think breaking up by email or text can be a good thing. It's less messy, belligerent, and lets people deal with their ugly knee-jerk emotions in private. Depending on the nature of the email, the possibility of contact and communication is still open, sometime down the road, should either party NEED to air their grievences / receive verbal closure face-to-face.

To take a Gladwellian turn, if the email is short, vague, or in some way shitty, it's likely the new ex is contemptuous towards you. If they treat you with contempt now, they will forever; people rarely change that much. You're better off without that person in your life.

She sounds like a narcissist, you're probably better off without her.

I hope you feel better soon.

I have no idea what she is/sounds like or how deeply fucked she is and how he like totally dodged the bullet cause, you know, chicks that do x are craaaaaaazzzzyyyy or how he should proceed from reading a few second-hand posts on styleforum and I have a psych doc from Hamburger University (tm). There are all kinds of reasons why she might have left him or didn't have the courage to face him at this point. The only course of action that I'd pursue is to meet her face to face and get a feel for what is going on then go for broke.

    'doesn't work' how? errors/no values/something else?

my guess is you have calculation set to manual or there are errors or NAs in lookup array

also, get in the habit of using index/match over v/hlookup--much more flexible and impervious to mistakes

I got a couple of belts in the mail, but they must have been coiled up pretty tightly for a while during transit, as they seem to have retained some persistent undulations (if you like at them in profile, they seem to go up-and-down or make look there are "waves" in them) even after quite a few wears. Anybody else ever have this happen? Does this usually go away after a while? Any way to get rid of this?
