1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Yeah, trick is is to let it cool down for at least 15 seconds before consuming, that way you won't burn your mouth/tongue. Har gows are excellent too.

Also, I usually get my rice crepes/rice rolls from that cart on Grand St. between Bowery and Chrystie:

It's only 14F here in Chicago. Going downtown with a buddy in a minute. Hopefully the stores won't be empty. I hate aggressive, lonely sales associates [IMG]

I'm pretty sure if sales associate were allowed to just sit around and tend to you when you're ready to place an order or ask a question, they would love to. Unfortunately, they have managers and said managers are required to manage and motivate them to push sales.

I actually really enjoy boutiques where consumers are able to browse undisturbed while sales associates hover nonchalantly and are ready to help you with sizing or stock questions when required. This management style is quite laissez-faire and the store caters to a specific age demographic of consumers, often those who do research and already know what they're going to buy before entering the store.

Got more than $600 MIA due to an eBay transaction gone south. Guy sold a ton of stuff, went on a shopping spree, then disappeared, never mailing out any of the items. I'll get my money back from eBay's Money Back Guaranteed program, but I'm looking to take this to the guy's local authorities. Based on the kind of stuff he was selling and buying (non-clothes, FWIW), and the name linked to the PayPal account, I'm thinking this is a teen using his mom's information. Unfortunately, it's a pretty common surname, especially given the area (California), so I'll need to rely on one of the people who sold something to the guy to confirm the street address I found online.

Nah, you're remembering correctly. Moreover, his comments are usually apropos of nothing. It's bad enough that he has a really fucked up view of gender and beauty, but the fact that his perception of Distorbiant's taste in women bugged him so much that he felt compelled to bring it up out of nowhere is just like really, really weird.

because we only deal in meaningful commentary here in rft, right? let's not make this another go-round of the women's attire thread, just let it go.

lol, dude. who's dealing in worthless (and unfounded) stereotypes now? I just find her exceptionally unattractive and obnoxious

out of nowhere, like, he recently changed his avatar and I noticed it? slightly ridiculous to me given some of the vitriol that's tossed around here that there's this much sensitivity to personal opinions about attractiveness, but I'll keep them to myself
