1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I appreciate both the use of the word 'ironical' and its application to verbal irony.

Can anyone recommend a down or down-like vest with snaps instead of a zipper? I tried the W+H one from this season and was thoroughly disappointed: shiny fabric, rattly snaps, too short, and not enough of a collar.

Hm good call on the W+H @notwithit I was looking into buying one but I can't stand rattling snaps either (not to mention they take a long time to button up.

From what I've been reading, it seems like the weather has gotten colder this year (colder winter!) compared to previous years.

Most importantly, I had the niggling feeling that my clothes were wearing me, that it was all just some game I was playing with strange men on the internet that was putting an ever-increasing strain on my finances. It seemed directionless. - @VitaTimH 2013

All this talk about Asian shame culture reminds me of the first day my mom saw me wearing a floral shirt. I didn't get to eat any fried rice and eggrolls that day

Being Chinese I can confirm that the mentality is expensive = good. It's ingrained into society because that's what they were brought up on, not because of the sudden influx of money.

The you have the Silicon Valley Taiwanese immigrant experience where people make tons of money, but don't spend any of it on anything.

And this reminds me of when I was in early grade school and wanted a sports-related trash can for my room. Not knowing anything about sports due to my young age, I chose a UNLV Rebels one because I liked the logo. When my dad got home from work and saw it, he threw it outside and yelled that UNLV is a terrible school and it'd be shameful if I ever went there.

    Well there's this Junya one.

CDW vests are incredible, but very puffy. Here's a nice Mt. Rainer one in similar style to CDW

And then the polar opposite here

Barbour used to make one, but now it seems like they all are zippered. Though the Lowerdale has a button placket over the zip.

And then Poler makes this one in three colors.
