1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Found one of my grails. Almost bought it. Then I put the money towards paying off my cc bill. Not sure if this feels good or bad.

Now that we're talking about education:

I don't think I've said it on this part of the forum, but I've spent this term studying business in Hong Kong.
Had my last exam today and will spend the next weeks up until Xmas travelling around Asia. Feels really good to finally be able to kick back and take it easy.

Gonna be nice to come back home though. As nice as it's been here with all the people I've met and experiences I've had, there's inevitably gonna be some things you miss from home. Clothing-wise, this term has sucked pretty damn bad. Have my eye on a few things I'm gonna buy for myself for Xmas [IMG]

"i'm young i'm supposed to be foolish with my money!" has been the justification for far too many purchases lately.

    - Robert Brockway, http://www.robertbrockway.net/2013/07/18/its-not-a-game-if-you-cant-lose/

It might be easy to say that this quote doesn't apply because Isachenko is arguing over essentially meaningless stuff, but he is causing actual harm; StyleForum is a considerably shittier place to be now than it is when everyone is posting in earnest, or in good humour. It's harmful to the community to have half a thread derailed by shitposts, or have a page empty because you've ignored a bunch of users on it. And it would all be totally avoidable if anyone at SF understood what moderation is, understood what community management is. Even if Isachenko is a troll (and I'm not convinced that he isn't just a dickhead), the effect it has on the atmosphere here is real.

Haha cool! Well it's probably the best school in HK and has a large international program. But the real reason is my wife did her JD/MBA there so it was the first school I thought of. I've been there many times and when we were in Central went to that "campus" in BOA, then later in Shatin. Hope you've been enjoying it and happy travels!
