There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    SF, I need your advice.

A couple of months ago, someone posted a link to a Boglioli unstructured herringbone jacket in the official ebay/b&s thread. Fool that I am, I put in a snipe, forgot about it, and ended up winning. It's a nice jacket, and one that I could probably give a good home. Regardless, it was during the heady days of midsummer, and there was no way in hell I was going to wear outerwear before October arrived. I hung it in my closet in the "I need to tailor this shit" section and promptly forgot about it until recently.

A couple of weeks ago, the guy contacts me saying his wife reminded him that she helped him pick out the jacket and could he please buy it back. He offers me a higher price than I paid on ebay, and I say ok. It takes him a while to pay for some reason - he originally asked me to send him a Google checkout invoice, and I have no idea how to do that or any particular interest in learning - but eventually he sends the money via PayPal and I mail him the jacket, which I have neither worn nor tailored at this point.

A couple of days after the jacket has arrived, I get an email from the guy saying that it's the wrong jacket. He wanted to buy back the brown Boglioli unstructured herringbone jacket, and I sent him the burgundy Boglioli unstructured herringbone jacket. (FWIW, I agree that the jacket is probably more burgundy than brown, but it's close enough between the two that it's kind of splitting hairs.) As such, he'd like to get his money back and he'll return the jacket to me. The only thing I can figure, unless the guy is totally blowing smoke, is that he had two Boglioli unstructured herringbone jackets, one in a brownish burgundy and the other in a true brown, and he thought he sold me the latter - which he must have sold at around the same time and for a similar price - when he actually sold me the former.

I'm not entirely sure what to do at this point. I don't particularly need the jacket, and I don't particularly want to deal with this person any more. The whole thing smells a bit off and I'd just as soon wash my hands of the matter, but at the same time I don't want this person harassing me via email or opening a PayPal claim against me.

Anybody else ever get this kind of thing through eBay?

Obviously, movies do not begin production in December for release five months later.

    Furthermore:

I didn't bother to respond. But today he followed up.

Walking into a large, nicer H&M store sort of changed my perception in terms of wearing clothes from a retailer b&m versus ordering stuff online. Perhaps it is my refined eye nowadays, or the fact that such stores are quickly copying designers and the grounds between the two are overlapping now more than before (thanks to the internet). Although I really don't have an urge to pickup anything, I do take a closer look at the clothing and consider how I'd wear it or pair it with my existing wardrobe. There are some clothes I do find can complement my wardrobe, or be a nice addition to the rotation, I admit. FWIW I use to be quite dismissive (thank you Styleforum), but I think now I can appreciate knowing there's some alternative out there. I think the only difference being the cut of the clothing and how it fits, but with a handy tailor it shouldn't be much of a problem. More so, a lot of stores are now having their clothes cut to fit e.g. the "slim fit" tag you see. I can at least feel comfortable directing someone who seeks help, and if they care enough and have an even higher appreciation for clothing, I can always then refer him to my bookmark with a list of online stores to sift through. Bro was looking for a jacket to wear casually, and have the option to wear a hoodie underneath. It was cool looking through the racks at jackets and explaining to him how a sport coat is not necessarily too dressy to wear for a more casual outfit, but how to dress it down and consider things like the texture and cut that differs an "orphan jacket" to an "odd jacket." I think he got the idea, and he is now more interested in looking at unstructured blazers, soft shoulders, lined sleeves etc.

It is always funny when one customer mistakes another for a store employee, and then fumbles for words and says 'sorry'

notwithit: do you have any evidence of the ebay transaction, perhaps in e-mail form at least?

if so, point out that it was indeed the one he sold to you and retain all correspondence so you have evidence if he decides to pursue a paypal claim. sounds like buyer's remorse to me.

Yeah, what nahneun said. You've already bent over backward for this guy. He's extremely lucky that you were willing to sell back a jacket you bought and paid for months ago, and it was kind of you to do so. To now say, "whoops don't want it back after all, take it back" is ridiculous and wasting your time. Get ebay records, get paypal records, and tell him (politely) he's out of luck, and hope he doesn't open a claim.

On another topic: am I the only one who just can't stand how peacoats look at all anymore? I used to like them. Now if I see one, I either think "fits bad" or at best "okay but boring." Has styleforum broken me? Maybe it's just all the posts online with people so excited about their first peacoat, such a classic omg blargagagghbl
