1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

There's more info in the Epaulet affiliate thread - no official price yet, but they should come in under $300. Which is frankly strange, because that puts them near MMM GAT territory, and they just look kinda weird.

Kent Wang CPs and now Epaulet GATs both equally terrible. Awaiting the next affiliate to make Rafstros.

They have a huge loyal fanbase, many of which couldn't care less about Margiela and probably buy almost exclusively from Epaulet. I think they know exactly what they're doing. Just because the sneakers don't appeal to you does not mean that there isn't a market for them.

White Epaulet GAT's ones looks fine. I have two pairs of original German army trainers somewhere.

they look more like Sambas than GATs cause of their soles, and honestly not that bad -- just probably not worth it at the price point. I think they'll look a lot better if they were not so boring

Adidas Samba sole used to be the same as in original GAT's.

Yeah epaulet sells well to their customer base the sneakers look on point. And MMMs are pretty crappy quality anyways these look a little better constructed

Mr Porter has measurements on those. They are pretty skinny.

    WOW.

Epaulet just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about fashion culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in other hobbies where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in the fashion industry, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shape is repentance.

What this means is that the Margiela fans, after hearing about this, are not going to want to shop at Epaulet, nor will they purchase any of Epaulet's products. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Epaulet has alienated an entire market with this move.

Epaulet, publicly apologize and cancel the release of these sneakers or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I did get the very sarcastic tone on the post, however I thought the 'idea' was for real. I need to get some sleep...
