I don't know what people actually do in CPs to wear em down so much that they fall apart I have 3 pairs that are like 3 years old, two are suede and still pretty clean.

I have a pair of the leather Chukkas that I've worn at least 3x a week for two years. They still look great apart from some seams that I started to come loose by the crease at the toes.

I've noticed some poeple just seem to burn through their footwear though.

Not even, I only wore them around 1-2x a week for the first 6 months. This summer, I started wearing them every other day - that seems to have done the damage.

Having a solid rotation does wonders to footwear longevity, feel it gets overlooked too often.

The inside sole of my Rick dunks are peeling off. Do I just glue them down? I tried to rip them off at first but it seems like its an integral part of the inner sole.

seems like there might be a sportcoat-version of the KKA-ish COS coat I posted a picture of a while ago, could be really cool if the fit is better than this seasons sportcoats

can someone help me figure out what my true jacket size is because I am apparently an idiot. I body measured my shoulders and chest, and got 18" and 40". I keep reading online trying to figure out what this means, and see things like "your chest measurement is your jacket size." This can't be right, can it? Isn't size 44 considered extra small and tiny? I was told when I got my TOJ that my jacket was roughly a 46 with longer sleeves, and it fits well, even a little tight in the chest.

Or am I just completely missing the point?

I think you may be mixing up suit size and Italian sizing. Example: 40 suit size=50 Italian. 42 suit=52 Italian.

In European sizing, your chest measurement is indeed your jacket size. In American sizing, it's basically 10 more. I.e., you're a 40 in EU sizes, and a 50 in US sizes.

Your 40" chest would in fact be your US suit jacket size, hence the 46 (36US) TOJ being snug. Usually you want to err on the side of snug for leathers though depending on style.

^^ so if for example a rick leather is posted with a 16" shoulder measurement, size 44 XS, is that eu or american size 44?

My confusion is basically stemming from a disparity in my being a size 50 by my chest measurement, and size 50 clothes posted online always having shoulder measurements which are far larger than my shoulders/shoulders on jackets I have that fit well. Is this just brands sizing things differently, or do I have a weird shoulder/chest size ratio?

You can't have to many pancake places, just like can never have to much bacon.

    ^ If you measure 18" shoulders and 40" chest, you're likely a size 40 in suit jackets (or a 50). That's pretty standard/normal.

I wouldn't say that translates to 1 to 1 for TOJ though...I would use their actual measurements listed for each size.
