Well there are also the import taxes and duties that these stores have to pay on top of the wholesale price, plus the markup for the store to make money, and the fact that 99% of consumers don't know a japanese proxy to call. Kichi store :slayer:

In other news, I may be purchasing my first Ann D piece. Too bad I can't find any pics of it online. Where can I find items from F/W 11 that actually went into production?

I think updating your avatar updates it on old posts. Or were you (10)?

Yeah I inquired about new stockists and I wish I had more info but the language barrier was tough, even with Chausser's English-speaking rep.

He has had the same avatar forever.

Changing avatars is just a big mess anyway. You give everyone momentary prosopagnosia

This kind of makes me feel bad for never utilizing the fact that my cousin has lived in Japan for 12 years.

Now you can think of Drew as a sort of mail-order cousin.

I am impressed by people who have the energy to buy things via proxy.

dude, it takes barely any effort, and it saves you a fuckton instead of buying retail equivalents. If time is money, than the time you invest in searching for stuff on auctions and proxying is a huge saving in the long run, and its not like you are buying someones second helpings they've beaten to the ground, its usually stuff in very good condition, so well worth it.

The clientele of these types of stores usually come from $$$ so it doesn't really matter if they know or not, and they aren't always enthusiasts with a vast amount of knowledge. Sometimes they are just there to buy a high quality coat for their sons or something without even knowing wtf MA+ or Julius is I'd suspect. I've seen people buy 4k jackets at the drop of a hat... Clothing enthusiasts sometimes don't know about the proxy option or have fear of using the service out of ignorance. What I do is visit these stores and try shit on, and then order it from abroad. Sometimes I've bought stuff from atelier but its usually when their sales actually put the items under the retail cost of japan, which happens often surprisingly.

The value is obviously in being able to handle the garments, especially when dealing with items that cost so much you want to get the fit right, not everyone does the classifieds thing out there.

for the love of god lane, don't get a scooter. you'll have a blast on a moto but the MSF is entirely advisable. Particularly because you've never drivin a manual car, so getting the concept of shifting down is going to be number one. buy used, obviously, and I'd get more than 250cc. Aim for 600 or so. I could see you lookin boss on a blacked-out cafe'd vintage honda. think girl with the dragon tattoo :slayer:

just don't get your cardigans and shit caught in your chain or back tire. that wouldn't be fun

The kid I used to get into fights with on a near-daily basis in second grade lost control of his moto a couple of years ago and got run over by a semi.
