This tag confuses me. Underneath where it says 100% wool, it then says "containing 50% cashmere." What the hell does that mean? Wouldn't that make it 50% cashmere 50% wool? But I guess this explains why it never felt like 100% wool to you.

Beats me - sadly, I'm not a Japanese speaker. Can someone shed some light?

Haha, I do speak Japanese, and it's confusing me. I think they are considering cashmere a type of wool. So they're saying it's 100% wool, but 50% cashmere wool.

well cashmere wool is still wool ...

yeah you got yourself a vintage piece from '88 , i have to search some more but the D-TK9210 i've seen on older jackets before. obviously the HJ-05040M is the style number most informative.

Pricing can really depend, not sure how the market would react but if you're interested I would start out with pretty high asking price on ebay just to test the waters. if the condition is as you say it is it's a piece of reistory.

Indeed, it's in fantastic condition. I don't like to say that about used garments, especially vintage ones, but this one is flawless. No moth holes, no snags, no stains, etc. etc. The hand (feel) of the fabric is sublime and, as aforementioned, the quality of construction is top of the line.

True, but it's just more common to see things listed as 50% wool, 50% cashmere, rather than 100% wool with a 50% cashmere content. Also odd that it's only mentioned on the Japanese side, and not the English. Seems like they're doing a disservice to their own product in the English-speaking market. And I'd definitely be interested if that were a smaller size, been searching for a CDG boiled wool for quite a while.

^^Man, these past twenty pages have been a gripping read, real white-knuckler type stuff... :slayer:

In other news, I keep passing by girls watching this Secret Circle show on TV, and it's like a SW&D lookbook.

I can see Raf at Dior, I guess. Feels like a boring move to me though. I think at this point it's about his resume and not what he's done recently. In any case, as long as China's economy keeps performing LVMH will be making $$$. The Chinese buy their stuff like it was on sale at Mr. Porter.

EDIT: went back and looked at some of his women's stuff (the menswear seems irrelevant). From the perspective of Dior as a business, it is the smart move.
