who told you that!!
shah, i told you that in confidence
It's ok, in real like I only wear Dipset hoodies and LRG jeans and Avirex jackets and Lugz boots
in the context of these forums and fashion circles, most probably it has to do with adding extra volume to outfits. i don't see it as a direct backlash against skinny jeans, as many bottoms with exaggerated drops do taper considerably. and it's not really a throwback to 90's styles which were much more than simply drop crotch but baggy all over including 40" hems or something absurd, more intertwined with a certain musical subculture.
i have no idea if this was a direct influence, but in northern african countries among other places you see people wearing sarouel which is basically looser trousers with exaggerated drops. i wouldn't be surprised if this is the source, as even certain collections that carry such garments call them by the same name, case in point SASQUATCHFABRIX, stat-ment. of course then the fabrics and cuts are given to poetic license. i guess this could be wrong, as i tend to see a lot of orientalist influence in recent works (eg. damir, givenchy '08 burqa, sarouels, man skirts aka lungis, kimono coats, mandarin collar jackets, so on and so forth)
I don't know if it's true elsewhere in Europe but in Barcelona last year drop crotch pants were literally everywhere. I think it's just a trend that's taken off (I don't know if it's like that elsewhere in Europe), but I don't think I've ever seen it in the US.
it's hit critical mass everywhere, i saw either american apparel or UO carrying drop crotch sweats that looked exactly like the gray ricks on park&bond except 1/10th the price
topman was doing a lot of dropcrotch too. they were bad
my cousin wants me to get a haircut like the du from the EG fw11 look book. kind of want to try it out. i want to do something different/more adventurous with my ugly ass hair.
that hairstyle reminds me of leo dicaprio
this is one of the best photos from the fw 2011 lookbook
yea i need to do some shit with my hair too, its been looking ratty as of late
We called them "cagados" here.
Lad Musician's cotton "slim pants" (judging from the pics on their online store) look like the perfect trousers to me.
does this dude remind anyone of that one homeless guy? I wonder if this was somewhat inspired by that, particularly the last pic
