American Apparel is a pain in ******.
(1) I returned a hoodie and learned they don't offer refunds period, so they gave me a gift card.
(2) Just tried to use the gift card to buy underwear and t's and learned they don't allow use of a gift card for merchandise purchased online.
(3) They don't sell the three-pack boxer briefs in store (at 3 for $33), so I'd need to buy them individually at $14 a pop and thus pay ~33% more.
How does American Apparel stay in business selling **** clothing (beside basics) and making up rules like this? For ****'s sake.

Always buy AA from a discount reseller, not the company's overpriced on-line store. Most resellers have far lower prices and better return policies. And in most cases your order gets drop-shipped directly from AA, same as if you had ordered from their official on-line store.

And regarding why AA has poor policies, just look at who their typical clientele is: teenagers and poor hipsters. Not only are their customers likely a pain ********** to deal with, but such customers are likely more forgiving of ****** customer service (as compared to more wealthy and/or older customers). As long as AA is perceived as cool/hip by these people, then customer service doesn't really matter.

DBSS seem to be loved by many, but not many take the plunge?

This is partially due to it not being readily available outside of Japan. I've had quite a few people pm me about junhashimoto and wjk, yet I don't see anyone wearing these brands in fit pics other than nicelynice. So same situation.

Also since DBSS doesn't play directly into any well established group trends, how would one incorporate it into their existing style? It's not really a goth ninja brand, which is further evidenced by the fact that SZ doesn't show it much love. But oddly SF posters speak more love for the label, leading me to believe that despite the overall funky collections the label has a stronger mainstream appeal than it would appear at first glance.

Certainly the most mainstream looking pieces in a DBSS collection could be successfully worn by many posters, whereas I can often look through whole Julius collections and struggle to see any pieces that could have broader, non-ninja appeal.

Those are new DBSS? Look really good... I'd get them if I didn't already own the RO they're ripping off...

I suppose you're right. But I'd also add that the RO is more of a direct Nike rip-off than DBSS is, even down to the Nike swish logo on the side.

Silent is pretty good on sale and if you don't have very big arms. The long-sleeved sweatshirt I got really grew on me after I pushed up and stretched out those impossibly slim forearms.

Odyn Vovk tees are the only tees I've handled that made me think maybe the idea of high-end tees isn't totally ******* stupid. Absurdly soft cotton.

I agree, but there's not really a popular group trend for this at the moment. Additionally, DBSS's take on it is downright funky and falls well outside of most people's concept of a "rocker" look. The label also has a bit of a skateboarder vibe too.

I often think the label appeals to young skinny guys who cannot afford it. From a business perspective, the label is not very good. I've noticed lots of stores dropping the label in Japan.

Silent tees are nice if you can find them for cheap (I grabbed a few when gilt had them for thirty-something a pop). I really don't like OV though. Something about their clothes just scream 'fake'.

I don't really like OV tees either. They looked extremely unflattering to on me. I ended up selling and/or returning all of mine. The fabric is nice though.

Silent tees are ok, but vastly overrated.

^^ This. I cannot explain why at the moment, but I instinctively know this to be true.
