Mixed feelings about making the decision to wear white paper covered gats and taking them into the center of mosh pits. Next Music From Tokyo @ Rivoli last night = awesome though. Doubling up tonight at Velvet Underground but this time I think I'll wear the guidis i took to burningman

this is almost exactly what I was thinking of; a side-zipped high-ankle boot with a 2-inch heel and narrower shaft, though. kind of like a rounded cross between a biker and a gaucho, with no harness

^I would love to find something like a Frye Harness boot, but without the harness gear. I really like the chiseled toe.

    This is pretty interesting

Also I don't get why Saturdays Surf is suddenly being picked up everywhere, handled some stuff in person and was not impressed with the quality. The brand manager or whoever it is seems well-connected though ...

Also, while we're still collecting Rick quotes (from a few years back): "I applaud Gareth's vision and I am his most ardent supporter, but he is going to have to learn to produce wearable clothing in order to stay in business ..."

Has anyone read the new SZ mag? Worth buying (even if one's not a SZ junkie)?

I tried once to read the thread in MC, but I gave up after the 700th page.

In all seriousness, that would be great. Can you recall any model names/numbers that would help?

I've got no personal experience with the brand, but IIRC the basic go-to model is the Craftsman Yearling.

The stying on Aloharag is pretty close to how I dress irl, except that that model is 3" taller and probably about 30 lbs lighter than me (I size up 1 from whatever that dude is wearing, and the fit is still slightly tighter). Also, their house line is like what Nom de Guerre should have stayed - a nice capsule collection that complements the other lines they carry.

Anyway, point is that I'd probably buy more stuff, except that they are not the fastest shippers, have especially dumb rules when the article is at their NYC store (they ship it to Hawaii, than back to the CONUS.) In this day and age, that lack of convenience customer service can be a killer.
