i dont know what world you live in that $50 belts are 'bad quality.' what $50 belts? i don't think i've paid more for a belt than like $60 - and and ive seen really pricey shit (including those KMW $400 belts), and theres no difference in the leather quality. i mean, yea, i guess your buckle isn't made from sterling silver, but horsehide/thick cowhide is the same at $50 or at $500. i guess what im saying is the threshold for a 'good' belt is pretty low, and they suffer from diminishing returns VERY quickly.

And that's why i'm not interested in Ann D. I don't mind paying a premium for an idea, but when it's so completely out of line with the materials and labour put into the product, it's hard to swallow. Ann D was not the first person to put a fucking feather on a necklace, will not be the last, and there's nothing in it that justifies the $300 asking price.

The dyeing, the leather, the hardware........it's better on a reputable branded, more expensive belt IMO. To each his own though.

I disagree that the leather is same on a $50 belt or something like a $250-$500 belt. What, does that go for shoes and jackets too? Price makes no difference, the leather is the same, you're just paying for design?

Ugh. Car checkup disaster. Oil all over girlfriend's driveway, in hair, on clothes, including baseball jacket. My hands are killing me. #antiswag

btw I was the one who talked Mike out of the camel varsity. I didn't mean to talk him out of TOJ completely, I was just feeling the same as the tumblr guy after watching so many decision changes - I hate seeing stuff go out and then just end up on B+S without ever being given a chance. I think half of TOJ post- sales come from people who don't even wear the things for an hour to see how they work, it's like open the package, put it on straight after the 12,000 mile shipping, and decide it's not broken in enough or something, I don't know, lol.

Zara online store in the US opens today. Their suits (~$250) are the best OTR fit I've found from a mall brand.
