lol, i'm not sure how you and your buddies roll, but if i asked my dudes to take a post-bar shower they'd probably not let me, just on principle.

who said shower? I dunk my head in their sink and rinse it out, hence the no shampoo part.

the guy who makes it is really into that rockabilly style and barbering (is that even a word?). it's his life, so it only fits that he'd create a product that would cater to his interests.

EDIT: btw that gold strip says "scientifically formulated to hold like wax yet wash out like gel" which is lives up to. bought a 32 oz canister woot.

I use a combo of 2 as my hair isn't long enough to hold without em. My favorite is Baxter of California's Hard Water Pomade - it is great and the smell is better than anything else I've come across. I also use Layrite on top to slick back some of the hair that is fighting to come forward. My girl doesn't like the smell of the Layrite so much.

I've got KMS California's hairplay molding paste and Garnier Fructis surf hair pomade as well - sometimes work these in.

My hair is only down to my eyebrows right now, and is pretty fine...I'm doing a side part so I use different products to get the style right without that crunchy hard texture. I think in a month or so I can switch completely to the Baxter Hard Water Pomade.

I used to use Elnett hairspray as well but its no longer necessary - only really been growing it out from a much shorter cut since mid June.

I agree Layrite is one of the best out there in terms of hold and finish, though again, I don't love the smell. Check out Baxter's Hard Water Pomade and Clay Pomade - all their hair products kick ass and smell great, but not quite anything like Layrite if you need the hold and aren't going drastic with Murray's.

How do you find the water pomade in comparison to the clay pomade? I've been mixing in some Malin and Goetz Sage Styling cream into the clay pomade since I find it a bit too dry sometimes.

You should check out the hard water pomade. It is totally different than the clay. I find the clay to be way too dry for my hair. I bought it, but I barely use it. I have pretty fine hair and it just doesn't work well with it. The hard water pomade might be more along the line of the consistency you are getting when you mix, or even more wet. It's definitely the consistency of pomade, thicker than Garnier Fructis surf hair, thinner than Layrite or the clay.

That'll be my last 'hair' post in here - I see what you did there APK.
