But real talk, one of the worst SF memes is 'dress like us and get easy snatch'

    Retarded

I dress nicely for myself, is that mega gay or something :embar:

I enjoy historical and cultural aspects which link in a lot with my views on different things, thats why I dress the way I do and not in head to toe ed hardy

Actually it seems to be "dress like us and you won't get snatch, go buy all your clothes at H&M"

Which may be indicative of self-confidence issues I guess

(and I agree with you, it's mostly a self-satisfaction thing, I could be doing this or playing Magic the Gathering or something)

I ment to say theme lol

Tweenspirit, I don't really see them ever overlap IRL unless it's with very specific groups or subcultures

I used to play MTG lol, still have force of wills and disks somewhere haha

Nah I do think alot of peeps are like 'I pull bitches SF yeahhhh'

I've certainly read that as a subtext alot here. I guess that's normal considering the inherent narcissism needed to join a clothing forum.

I think it goes back to some need to justify clothing purchases based on quality/mechanical value, like you're picking out a new car or bandsaw. In opposition, that is, to saying "I like X because I find I find it exciting and compelling for purely aesthetic reasons," because that'd be gay. It's better to say, "No, it's because my tight-ass twisted-seam japanese-made pseudo-destroyed multi-fabric shredder jeans get me all the bitches." Men don't pay for beauty, and if they do, it's expected to be for the benefit of women (thanks GQ!)

    This ^^

I remember reading Fuuma ripping peoole apart over sexist attitudes over in CE and somewhere else...

It was pretty insidious sorts of comment he was picking on, nothing really direct, sort of like racism in Australia, no one ever really says 'I hate xyz race' but the tone of comments, the subtext underneath ideas (boat people / refugees etc) and disconnection from society ( i.e pushing indigenous out and creating slums for ethnic groups)

Dtmt that list bit helps, true no one has ever said that but that wasn't really my point, it's not a statement that makes a prejudice but a POV

How does one convey a point of view without at least one statement? Miming?

thatoneguy- the place looks cool but that barrel distortion is intense.

shoreman, thanks for that post, it's a godsend. I've been to a handful of DC museums but it's been a while and I don't know the city in any depth.

haha ya it is, that lens distorts a lot. I didn't want to put it on but they took my backpack and I had to take everything with me, I do like it in some pictures though
