as a self proclaimed "almost" hipster, lol, are there any thrift stores in baltimore worth checking out? I wouldn't mind thrifting a pair of shoes for formal occasions (need to up my formal wardrobe on the cheap).

What does OG even mean in this context.

Never found anything good in a UO except blank tees I think. I'm living about 15 minutes on the el away from the Oak Street Barney's, etc. now, not that I can afford the gear on anything like a regular basis but it's definitely soured me on the shitty fabrics/ugly designs/made in cambodia thing UO has going on.

People are really still hating on hipsters? How the fuck do you even tell anymore?

Haha no. Just stuff that's more casual, less skin-tight stuff. Into Kiryuyrik a lot right now but who knows what the future holds. See recent purchases: http://harajuju.tumblr.com/post/7230451400/my-summer-sale-pick-ups

Well be patient and don't expect too much, I pre-ordered the wrinkle suit and a t-shirt from SS12 and have those boots coming. I'm not sure where I'm going, just somewhere far away

Kiryuyrik is amazing. If I had the cash and the patience to proxy from Japan I'd be all over it.

All around UO is pretty crappy I think, except for their selection of Levis which could be decent. But it's really all about location of the store and the demographic. The H&M in Beverly Hills is actually pretty cool.

Well, at least you have something of a direction, Uncontrol. I've been wearing nothing except black pants/white short-sleeve shirts/black boots all summer. Not sure what direction I want to head in at all. I'm thinking I might just fill out my work wardrobe with all of the requisite boring stuff while I figure out what sort of direction I want to go in.

Maybe I'll just wear that LUC poncho/cape thing everywhere.

    Demythologizing Consumption Practices:
    How Consumers Protect Their Field-
    Dependent Identity Investments from
    Devaluing Marketplace Myths

"Marketplace myths are commonly conceptualized as cultural resources that attract
consumers to a consumption activity or brand. This theoretical orientation is prone
to overstating the extent to which consumers’ identity investments in a field of
consumption are motivated by an associated marketplace myth. We provide a
theoretical corrective to this tendency by investigating consumers who have become
vested in a commercially mythologized consumption field through an incremental
process of building social connections and cultural capital. For these consumers,
the prevailing marketplace myth is experienced as a trivialization of their
aesthetic interests, rather than as a source of identity value. In response, they
employ demythologizing practices to insulate their acquired field-dependent social
and cultural capital from devaluation. Our findings advance theorizations concerning
marketplace myths and consumer identity work and explicate the sociocultural
forces that deter consumers from abandoning a consumption field that has become
    culturally associated with undesirable meanings."

Would you like a leather jacket with a giant fur collar?

I'm not really sure I have a direction, just that the pieces that attract me now aren't the pieces that attracted me a year ago. I saw a red snakeskin shirt today and I didn't even want it!
