Sigh. Just read the 7FAM thread over in MC. The difference between MC and SW&D is that MC sometimes seem proud of their ignorance and philistinism.
I couldn't have said it better in multiple multi-paragraph responses.

So WSJ did a article on the cost of designer premium denim & it's worth reading. To break it down - I know most of you know about these ludicrous mark-ups & buy from brands just for the name, but this is just crazy - a pair of True Religion signature Fall jeans (called the "Phantoms") retail for 300+ and cost the maker $50 (materials + labour) to produce!

actually that markup isn't that ridiculous if you bothered to look into it

    lol at mc quotes

    ^synopsis?

This one in particular made me LOL.

Yup, Lees have a nice, simple, classic cut. D&G jeans have a fashony crap cut designed to appeal to SW&Ders who sag for the diaper effect and stack for the 'can't find my size' effect.

Boy we do we love our drop crotch D&G jeans, they're the hottest thing right now on SW&D!

Another example is them laughing at the mark up on designer denim yet they always scramble to grab Oxxford that has been marked down from 2k to 200, hmm I wonder what those mark up are.

Markup from CMT on RTW suits is about 1000%, give or take a up to a couple of hundred percent (and remember that 100% is a standard Revolveclothing coupon or a salesman's commission.)
