Talking about the super wide flat bicycle toe black kenneth coles that 99% of people in suits wear?

and I swear 2/3 of them go for the loafer version, which is even more hideous

Even streetwear looks where it's a polo and khakies, which is a 'ok I'm making an effort' look but then like terrible running shoes or sketchers or some shit.

the LV Zenith Ankle boot in Moka is beautiful in person. Shot a style blogger for a commercial and he was rockin them. Was surprised to see how nice they were.

LV gets slammed a lot on Styleforum, but the materials and manufacture of most of their stuff is impeccable.

I sold a pair of jeans to a forumuser (Jiratic) - he messages me here that he states that i didnt give him measurements - i did, but but on the second page. He asks for a refund, i denies him that since i dont think i did anything wrong. He files a complain at paypal (and uses the ground that he didnt receives the jeans) - and wins it - because i dont have track&trace and therefore cannot prove that i shipped the pair of jeans. I uploaded screenshots from this forum as evidence to paypal- including the one where he mentions that he has received the jeans and want a refund - how can he has received the jeans and stated that he didnt as the paypal reason and win? Do note, that he used his forum name and mentions APC and SF on the paypal recipts when he paid for them. Paypal does nothing, and despite trying to get them to look at my evidence, they only look at the fact i didnt buy track&trace which Jiratic didnt want... f*ck me, and same to paypal.

that's retarded. inaccurate measurements aside, how can a buyer after receiving the goods complain that the seller didn't provide measurements - even if the seller in fact didn't? could he not have asked beforehand

paypal has been known to always side with buyers even if you have a tracking number (unless i guess you use paypal's "print shipping label" function) though. this looks to me to be more a case of being screwed over by the buyer...

Won't be able to get your money back, but make sure to bring this to the mods' attention and post it in the buyer/seller rating thread. At least you can warn others not to deal with him

dude in the subway last night was wearing some knee-length drop crotch sweats last night with beat up current-gen rick dunks in all white (same ones RFX has but all white)

first time I've seen them that worn in and they looked REALLY good, better that I would have expected any all-whites to look.

they also didn't appear to have the bulbous toe. didn't catch if they had staples or not.

bitches smell money but that's all. the nose isn't fine tuned for taste.

Probably have cocaine to thank for that.

well yeah, that - decent fitted suits, non-gaudy ties and shirts, but then obnoxious long flat square shoes. Even streetwear looks where it's a polo and khakies, which is a 'ok I'm making an effort' look but then like terrible running shoes or sketchers or some shit.

maybe Hermes Man is onto something (LV monogram black shoes)

to try answer my own question, I think the problem is not that there's a lack of ok shoes but rather that there's just too much noise with BAD shoes so it's too hard for the half-educated dude to sort through it all and find something acceptable. There's just so much shit in the store that's poorly selected, overpriced, etc that he's bound to walk out with some crap.

I think this is true with all clothing, to at least some extent. I think there's gotta be something about shoes specifically that renders people incapable of distinguishing among good, acceptable, and ugly, even if they can tell whether a shirt or a pair of pants fits well and is flattering.

I've been trying to think of ways to wear my fujiwara sneakers in a way that even wally might approve (love your opinion and agree with you synthese but we're two special flowers and most people don't like 90's stubby legs and highs style like us). If I cover the tongue the proportions end up looking right at least.

they also didn't appear to have the bulbous toe. didn't catch if they had staples or not.

in person rick dunks look really fucking slim, even the new ones. Only looks like fat toe if the person sized wrong or in pics.

Really? No, not really. Harry's doesn't "curate" anything at all. It's pretty indiscriminate. Holts, I'm sure, does for some of the lines, but a lot of it is such garbage that there's nothing really to be done and I doubt anyone really bothers. Even their buys of things like McQueen (basically anything with a skull on it for brand id purposes), Prorsum (LET'S BUY NOTHING BUT TRENCHES) don't make much sense. The Jil buy here this winter was ok but it was tiny so they really had to pick and choose, and basically found the most understated stuff possible. Henry Singer here does a better job with Lanvin, and are willing to take a swing at some stuff - it's all going on sale on Thursday, I'm a have to stop in.
Keep in mind the size of their store and both volume and diversity of their customer base. Within that context, they've done some selecting. Of course it really works better with a smaller store that goes for a specific look. It becomes a something for everyone means nothing for anyone. UnControl - you don't think Little Burgundy has a focused selection of stuff? I find they have a minimal number of shoes, each one is pretty well designed, and well priced for what it is. When I skim the store I rarely pick up something and go 'this is garbage, how'd it get in here?'. I don't like all the styles, but I think it's clear that theres a very careful selection process at work, particularly for a mall store level.
